Apparently, Wallace goes directly to the two policemen in the video and is said to have been armed with a knife. According to the police, he refused to put down the knife when the police shot him. According to his father, he was shot ten times.

Big protests
The shooting of the African American Wallace has sparked major protests in the million-dollar city of Philadelphia. On Monday night, hundreds of people took to the streets. A police car was set on fire and some 30 policemen were injured in the riots.
According to the local Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper, 91 people were arrested in the city. Eight police cars are said to have been damaged in the riots, and most of the police officers are said to have been injured after being hit by projectiles.
Since then, video of the incident has been shared on social media.

Witnesses and neighbors believe that the police used excessive force against Wallace. The 27-year-old’s father, Walter Wallace, a senior, told The Philadelphia Inquirer that his son appears to have been shot ten times.
He says the son, who also had children, struggled with mental problems and used medication.
– Why didn’t they use an electroshock weapon? he asks.
Police inspector Frank Vanore confirms to the AP news agency that the two police officers fired at least seven shots each, at least 14 in total. You can’t tell how many of them hit Wallace.
The 27-year-old was a grandfather, was married and is said to have dreamed of making a career as a hip-hop musician.

Police spokeswoman Tanya Little says they moved to the Black Cobbs Creek area west of the city after receiving a report from a gunman. There they discovered Wallace, who according to her did not obey when the police asked her to put down the knife. Little says Wallace approached police when he was shot, writes NTB.
Several hundred people took to the streets of the city on Monday night and Tuesday night, and there were clashes with the police. Movies from the scene show people yelling at the police and crying. Police cars and wastebaskets were set on fire, among other things. More demonstrations are expected in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

“I’ve seen the video of this tragic event and it gives us some tough questions that we need answers to,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a comment.
