On Thursday last week, NRK wrote that Christian Ringnes real estate company Eiendomsspar was among those who had expressed interest in the building that previously housed Deichman’s main library.
– Yes, we strongly consider it. We are working on a concept that will address the wishes of the city’s dealer and antiques dealer, said Sigurd Stray, executive vice president of NRK.
Open to the public
Stray now confirms that the real estate company has submitted an offer. They have developed a separate concept for the building, with which the bidder is familiar, he says.
– We have made a document about this, but we do not want to make it public until a tender process has been decided, he tells Dagbladet.
However, it confirms that the plans involve a Deichman who is completely open to the public. Concert halls, offices and a cafeteria are among those included in the real estate plans.
– This is going to be a great product, with these elements, among other things, and then I think we will have to specify a little more if we catch up, he says.
According to Aftenposten, Møller Eiendom and Obos are among the competitors.
Long process
Lena Nesset, head of communications for the Real Estate and Urban Renewal Agency, tells Dagbladet that it will be time before there is a new owner.
– The process is such that we now receive offers within the bidding period. The offers will then be reviewed, followed by a regular bidding round.
Terms have been set in the sale. As long as the conditions are met, it is sold to the highest bidder, according to Nesset.
– Then a recommendation is made and sent for political consideration, and the Oslo city council adopts the case.
– a couple that I miss
Broker Carl Fredrik Marti of the Colliers International brokerage firm, which handles the sale on behalf of the municipality, tells Dagbladet that they have received ten offers at 1:28 p.m.
Expect to bring a couple more.
– There are couples that I miss, he tells Dagbladet.
However, it will not confirm that Eiendomsspar has submitted an offer, and the list of offers will not be published.
– It is a common procedure in business mediation. We don’t usually declare other bidders, he says.
The first element of the schedule after the deadline expires is to review the offers to verify that all documentation is satisfactory and that the offers meet all conditions of sale. Bidders will have the opportunity to specify or correct if something is deficient.
– Then it will be a normal bidding process after that.
