TELEVISION: They have been the semifinals of “Star Wars”. Knut Marius, Ingeborg and Sandra have battled for two final innings. The one who had to be beaten at the finish line this time was Ingeborg Winther.
We review the performances of the artists song by song. Read more below.
Disk:
Knut Marius: «Disco Inferno» – The trams
Then it will be decided: the final pair will be selected next Saturday. There has been no shortage of accolades for Knut Marius this season, and it’s no secret that he’s an obvious favorite. But you have two tough competitors to contend with. In other words, nothing is decided until the votes have been counted.
Knut Marius also tackles disco music, of course. This is a song that does not offer great challenges for his bagpipes. And usually when there is very little technical resistance, Knut Marius is easy to take off. There will be a lot of pathos and flexing of the vocal cords. But fun and entertaining, and it seems that the main character himself is brilliantly happy with the subject.
Ingeborg: “I’m so excited” – The Pointer Sisters
Ingeborg’s great strength is that he always knows how to balance energy. She is never too much or too little, you could say that she has good taste and is in her place. Ingeborg dances and smiles, while offering vocal performances from the top shelf. The song sounds simple, but there are a lot of pieces that need to fit here for the song to fly. And it does. Does it smell like a final ticket?
Sandra: “Hot Things” – Donna Summer
Sandra has reportedly had trouble with a voice that disappeared this week. It is not immediately noticeable, although initially it is difficult for him to play the notes, a problem that also appears throughout the song. That is not a normal diet for Sandra. Maybe it’s the choreography that steals too much focus? The high note at the end feels like a gunshot, but the vocal brilliance comes a little late this time. But what a journey it has been for Sandra and there is no doubt that she has shown singing performances here that have knocked unsuspecting viewers to the ground.
Duets:
Knut Marius and Eli Kristin Hanssveen: «Barcelona» – Freddie Mercury og Montserrat Caballé
If it were a duo, so be it. In the classic spirit of Knut Marius, go for the less subtle songs. Here it is more or less allowed to give full throttle from start to finish and that opportunity, of course, does not give a finalist Knut Marius without a fight. Nothing is stored here, and for once it’s perfectly fine not to fasten your seat belts. For a singing performance, of the two, one should almost be allowed to point. Not many singers can take home a technical adventure of this format with a wide smile on their face. Congratulations.
Ingeborg and Sondre Mulongo Nystrøm: «Say something» – A great world og Christina Aguilera
There haven’t been that many ballads in Ingeborg this fall, so it’s good to hear it in this music corner too. The song itself isn’t very exciting and doesn’t offer the biggest vocal challenges. But it’s also okay to hold it down for once. Strictly speaking, it is text communication that is most important here and there, Ingeborg is constant and generous.
Sandra and Alexander Pavelich: “Shallow” – Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
Nice selection of Sandra’s songs and fun to watch her be more “casual” – she has often landed on more flashy songs. Here the event ends, it is about communication and emotions. Still a bit bitter here and there, but here communication trumps the majority. As always, he sings impressively well when he uses lung capacity and punch, but here are the introductory verse lines in the lower register too. For a Sandra delivery on the run here.
