On Thursday, Respawn released the first details of the fifth season of Apex Legends. The season, called Fortune’s Favor, launches on May 12, and players can expect a new character and highly sought-after feature.

Buried a bit in the developer’s writing about the upcoming season, a so-called reconnect feature is introduced. If you lose an internet connection, the game crashes, or you drop a game that is on the way, you have a chance to return.
Despite the high demand for such a feature, Respawn has previously declined to introduce one, fearing that players will use it to secure unfair advantages. Now, however, the beep has changed.

The revenge of a master thief and the treasure hunt
The first trailer for the fifth season, which you can see at the top of the article, features Loba, a rank master thief with a sad backstory.

Players who have followed Apex Legends may recognize her as the daughter of Marcos Andrade, who was liquidated by the Apex Revenant character. Several years later, Loba has finally found her father’s killer, and is ready to take the Apex arena for revenge.
As for his abilities, Respawn has so far revealed nothing. However, digging deeper into the game’s files suggests that you can use the skills you’ve learned as a thief, including the ability to track specific objects and move quickly from one location to another.
Along with Loba, the fifth season enters with a new mode that Respawn calls Missions. The details of this are still vague, but based on the developer’s description, players must “hunt for treasure and answers” with a rich reward for those who complete the entire mission sequence.
Finally, the developer announces a new battle pass for avid cosmetics collectors, as well as a new round of ranked games. More details about the season will be revealed in the coming days.
