Christmas is fast approaching and there are probably more who are looking forward to this year’s holiday celebration. However, it will be a different Christmas celebration for many due to the crown pandemic, and there are likely more who will not be allowed to go home for Christmas this year, including Princess Madeleine (38).
She usually lives in Florida, United States, with her family, but every year she has traveled to Sweden to celebrate Christmas with the rest of the Swedish royal family. This will not be the case this year.
She announces this in a post on Instagram.
“It saddens me that this year I will not have the opportunity to go home, but my heart goes out to all of Sweden,” he writes.
According to Swedish court information manager Margareta Thorgren, this was to be expected and the royal family should have known that Princess Madeleine and her family will not be traveling to Sweden this Christmas.
– We are in a pandemic and that means that we have to celebrate Christmas in a different way this year. So the family stays at their home in Florida, Thorgren tells Expressen.
The rest of the Swedish royal family has also had to change their Christmas plans in the face of the pandemic.
– Many families who do not have the opportunity to meet on the weekends this Christmas, can meet digitally. So does the royal family, Thorgren adds.
Miss the homeland
Florida is one of the areas in the world most affected by the pandemic with more than one million people infected. In SVT’s “The Year with the Royal Family”, the princess recently revealed what life has been like under the crown.
– If someone had told me that we had to stay at home for five months, I do not know if I would cry or laugh, he said on the program.
Share new photos of the children.
It has been almost a year since the family was in Sweden, and on the television show, the princess described longing for her family and friends.
– Children ask almost every day: “When can we travel to Sweden?” We all miss Sweden so much, he said.
The news that Princess Madeleine and her family will not be coming to Sweden this Christmas comes shortly after Prince Carl Philip (41) and Princess Sofia (36) shared the news that they will expand the family once again.
– We are happy and expectant, and we look forward to welcoming our third child, a brother of Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel. A new member of our family, the couple said in a press release.
The secret he hides from children
Showed his stomach
Last week, the growing family also decided to share a little greeting from Lucia to the Swedish people, and in the picture you could clearly see the growing belly of the princess.
“We all wish you a nice third Sunday of Advent and a good celebration for Lucia. We would also like to express a big thank you to all the best congratulations to our growing family,” they wrote on Instagram.
What surprised me with the photo was that it was the first time that Princess Sofia showed her belly.
Expressen wrote that lately she has done her best to hide that she would soon be a mother again, in a whimsical way.
Baggy pants, high waists, shapeless dresses, and tactical poses are tricks you’ve been using lately. She has done so through her previous pregnancies as well.
The court itself has confirmed that Princess Sofia did what she could to keep the secret for as long as possible.
– First of all, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are very happy and expectant. This also applies to the royal family, who have known about it for a while, said Swedish court information manager Margareta Thorgren, continuing:
– It is good news that the prince and princess are now expecting children, at a time that has otherwise been so bleak. A child is always welcome, he continued.
