More than 30 years after Therese Johannessen disappeared without a trace, her DNA profile has emerged. At the same time, the controversial Pakistani trail is closed by the police.

Appears in the new documentary series “Therese – the girl who disappeared”, which has been shown on NRK since Sunday. Therese Johannessen, aged nine, disappeared without a trace from Fjell in Drammen on July 3, 1988.

– Therese’s DNA has been found on a pillowcase and on an eraser, and it is these two who together gave us a profile, says Kjell Johan Abrahamsen, NRK southeastern police district attorney.

This means that the police can identify Therese if she should come forward or if remains are found behind her.

Track of Pakistan closed

The documentary series also reveals that the police have closed down the much-discussed Pakistani lead.

Therese’s mother was in a relationship with a Pakistani man before meeting Therese’s biological father. The clue was that someone must have thought that Therese was the daughter of the Pakistani man and that her family had kidnapped the girl. The police have no clue or evidence to believe.

The series claims that the man and his family have experienced kidnapping suspicions as a burden for several years.
