The mythical Israeli businessman will help the excellent Elite Series point collector in the next step of his career.

Danish Bodø / Glimt star Philip Zinckernagel has had an adventurous season for what will in all likelihood be the 2020 Elite Series champion. 34 goals, 14 goals and 15 assists on goal in a total of 22 games are numbers crazy for the 25 year old.

On Sunday, he scored an assist in Aalesund’s 7-0 loss.

Consequently, interest has skyrocketed. He is also unaffected by the fact that Zinckernagel’s contract with the league leader expires in a month and a half.

The Dane has now entered into a sensational collaboration as he now has to decide the next step in his career. Zinckernagel has signed an agreement with the legendary agent Pinha “Pini” Zahavi. The 77-year-old Israeli is nobody in the world of football. Zahavi was the man who in his time helped Roman Abramovich buy Chelsea. He was also the man who helped Sacha Gaydamak buy Portsmouth in 2006.

Additionally, Zahavi currently has a star-studded client roster consisting of names like Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba, Carlos Tevez, Javier Mascherano and Manchester United’s new left-back Alex Telles.

Former Bayern Munich top manager Ulli Hoeness called Zahavi a “greedy piraya” last September after Alaba did not want to sign a new contract with the Champions League champion.

The agent has already assisted Zinckernagel for a short time, but the collaboration has now been officially formalized.

– I have partnered with Zahavi for the next two years. We have signed a contract, so I use him as an agent together with my Danish consultant, Zinckernagel tells Nettavisen.

According to Bleacher Report and The Guardian, the Israeli businessman is what one should be able to refer to as “soccer’s first real super agent.” Zahavi has been involved in several giant transfers and is described by PSG star Neymar as “a brother”. According to Football Leaks, the 77-year-old received more than ten million euros for his role in the transfer of the Brazilian from Barcelona to PSG.

Zinkernagel tells Nettavisen that the collaboration came through his Danish adviser.

– He has a relationship with Zahavi, but we’ve been involved with him for a while. We can call it a little collaboration. They previously worked with Caroline Wozniaki (editor’s note from the former Danish tennis player), says Zinckernagel.

– Just to say yes, thank you and hope for the best.

Although the Dane has had an adventurous season in the Elite Series, it is rare for foreign agents the size of Zahavi to turn to Norway to recruit players.

Zinckernagel says the 77-year-old is very involved in his career and that they have chatted several times.

– The idea is that we will find the best possible club for me. Through it, we hope to take a pretty big step. With the help of his contacts, I think we will find a very good club. When you are allowed to work with such a great agent, you just have to say yes, thank you and hope for the best, says the Glimt player.

– What have you talked about together in your conversations?

– You said that you are happy to work with me and that I have done very well. There is a lot of interest and a good club will find me if I do not expand with Bodø / Glimt. That decision has yet to be made, but we will only win the gold first and see if there will be a change or an extension.

The winger explains that he has always focused on winning the gold first before focusing on other things.

– If there is no real club that is sportingly and financially good, I will have a great time at Glimt. I am not leaving the club at any cost. Of course, I dream of reaching the highest possible level. I also have a goal to join the Danish national team and then it helps to play at an even higher level, he continues.

Champions League rejected this summer

The Dane is in his third season in Norwegian football. This summer he had the opportunity to continue his career in Turkey, but his new agent’s advice was clear.

– Istanbul Basaksehir tried to buy me in the summer window, but then Zahavi thinks we should wait, take it easy and find something even better. At least we don’t get stressed. I have an outgoing contract so I am not stressed at all, he says about the club that beat Manchester United 2-1 in the Champions League last week.

With a clear dream of a place in the Danish national team, Copenhagen realize that in all probability they must play in a better league than Norway to have their chance.

– One waits for the opportunity, but there are many good players and great competition in my position. They also play for bigger clubs than me, but I am hoping to join there. It’s about delivering every weekend so I hope to have a chance at some point.

– You may have to go to a better league to get a chance. There are national team players who play in Barcelona, Leipzig, Sampdoria or the Champions League with Midtjylland. There are slightly bigger clubs, without offending anyone, concludes Nettavisen.

In other words, it will be exciting to see what Zinckernagel and his new super agent choose when 2020 turns to 2021.

NB: Bodø / Glimt only need one point in their last six matches to secure gold in the Elite Series.
