Sky Sports had to complain after Evra claimed, from the television channel’s studio, that Zaha may have had an affair with David Moyes’s daughter.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash between Manchester United and Crystal Palace, Patrice Evra made a slightly controversial comment, in the direction of former teammate Wilfried Zaha, on Britain’s Sky Sports television channel.

The Frenchman claims that Zaha must have had a relationship with David Moyes’ daughter.

– I remember that he (Zaha) was an electric player, but then he had this, whether it is true or not, the affair with the daughter of David Moyes, says Evra in the Sky Sports broadcast.

At the time, Moyes was United’s manager, and according to the Frenchman, that may have been the reason Zaha ended his club career.

Following Evra’s remarks, Sky Sports host Jelly Cates immediately responded.

“You probably don’t know the background to that story, so it’s probably best to leave it for now,” Cates replied.

Sorry

Not long after, Sky Sports took responsibility and officially apologized on behalf of the television channel.

– We must clarify an earlier comment in the broadcast that suggests that there may have been a relationship between Wilfried Zaha and David Moyes’ daughter, Sky Sports begins before they continue.

– We understand that Zaha has never met David Moyes’s daughter, and that Patrice’s accusations are incorrect, and we apologize for any wrongdoing.

Lang United-karriere

Patrice Evra is best remembered for his nine seasons at Old Trafford. Under Alex Ferguson’s leadership, the left-back won a number of trophies, including five league championships, three FA Cup titles and one Champions League title.

After leaving United in 2014, Evra also visited Juventus, Marseille and West Ham.

The Frenchman is also remembered for the controversial incident with Luis Suárez, when the then Liverpool player was convicted of making a racist incitement against Evra.
