– Of course I’m not happy – VG

(Odd – Sarpsborg 08 1–1) Molde, Vålerenga and Rosenborg have little objection to Sarpsborg 08 neutralizing Odd in Skien.

– Today we don’t deserve anything else, I think. We are not happy with our performance today, Espen Ruud tells Eurosport.

The home team was denied victory for the first time at the Skagerak Arena since July 5. However, it was not without controversy.

Odd called for a penalty kick twice in the first half, first when Suleyman Bojang apparently touched the ball with his hand, then when Markus Kaasa was run over by Sarpsborg captain Joachim Thomassen.

But it was only when Magnar Ødegaard appeared to have contact with Elba Rashani that referee Dag Vidar Hafsås decided to mark the penalty spot. Eurosport commentator Frode Marti thought that was the situation he saw less as punishment.

Espen Ruud scored his 50th goal in the league in cash in the 50th minute.

Ultra-fast response

Sarpsborg, the least goal-rich team in the Elite Series averaging two and a half goals per game in which they are involved, responded with a response time the Eastern Police District would be proud of.

Nicolai Næss nodded the ball back to Mikael Bertil Dyrestam, who effectively hit the ball on the roof of the net on a half volley.

– As the game was, we will be happy with a point, Dyrestam tells Eurosport.

Robin Simovic represented a true “Benny Hill” moment as he fought the ball past visiting goalkeeper David Mitov Nilsson, but was unable to move his long legs in time. Bjørn Inge Utvik cleared the line with gratitude.

– Naturally, we are not happy with not winning at home and I think we should demand more. Margins were not on our side, Simovic told Eurosport.

Heintz cheated?

In the end, however, it was Tobias Heintz’s turn to feel cheated.

He danced with the ball into the box and attempted a shot, but it was apparently planned by Filip Jørgensen.

Once again, Hafsås opted to shake up the game more, this time to great protests from the ‘trequartista’ who returned from Sarpsborg.

– When I feel the contact, I go to bed to be punished. It is a clear punishment, where they deceive us, Heintz tells Eurosport.

Odd lost ground in the medal match, Sarpsborg took another opportunity to finally beat Odd at Skien and probably neither of them were that happy with the referees’ decisions in the two penalty areas.
