Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane is one of the favorites to fill the vacant managerial position at hard-working Salford City.
Keane, who has previously been the manager of Sunderland and Ipswich, is interested in a new managerial position after being an assistant coach of the Irish national team with Martin O’Neill from 2013 to 2018.
He has also been deputy director of Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
Keane currently works as an expert commentator for Sky Sports, but may return as a coach in Salford, where he will work for his former teammates from his time at Manchester United.
The former Manchester United captain, along with Warren Joyce, who heads Salford’s development department, are bookmakers’ favorites to take over, according to the Manchester Evening News. Joyce, 55, also has ties to Old Trafford and was previously United’s reserve team coach, before joining Wigan Athletic and Melbourne City.

Cambridge has lived up to all expectations, but lost both games against Salford last season, scoring no goals. Salford has played well away from home and only conceded one goal in three away games. We think they should have good chances to score three points at Abbey Stadium. Salford’s 2.60 winning odds is interesting.
