Aston Villa confirms Ørjan Håskjold Nyland has finished at the Premier League club. They have agreed to terminate the contract.

The Birmingham club writes on their website that Ørjan Håskjold Nyland has played his last match for Villa.

– Together we have shared fantastic memories that I will remember for the rest of my life, writes Ørjan Håskjold Nyland on Instagram.

The Norwegian joined the club from Ingolstad in August 2018 and won a total of 36 matches for Aston Villa.

Last season, he helped the club reach the league cup final, where Nyland started in the loss to Manchester City.

This season he has only played the League Cup match against Burton Albion.

News came on Monday that Ørjan Nyland has announced his absence from international matches against Serbia, Romania and Northern Ireland due to injury.

Odd goalkeeper Sondre Rossbach has been signed as a substitute for Rune Almenning Jarstein and André Hansen.

Termination of the contract means Ørjan Håskjold Nyland does not have to find a new club tonight.

Players without a club can sign for a new club even after midnight.

So far, VG has been unable to contact Ørjan Håskjold Nyland or receive a comment from his agent, Jim Solbakken.

Aston Villa has been in great shape this season and has three wins in a row. Emiliano Martínez has arrived from Arsenal as the new first goalkeeper.

Against Liverpool he conceded two goals. It played a small role when Ollie Watkins, Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley were in great shape in the insane 7-2 win:
