Politicians extended the order
Elin Marie Andreassen from Frp proposed on behalf of Frp, Ap, Sp, SV, MDG and Venstre to extend the order proposed by the municipal director to apply beyond the specified times, if it is impossible to comply with a distance of 1 meter. He also suggested that the order should apply to regional buses, airport buses and ship traffic.
Andreassen believed that people could not be given the responsibility of evaluating “a meter” even outside peak hours. He referred to deliberate and unconscious misinformation, including from celebrities on social media.

Slipped against order
Svein Otto Nilsen of the retirees party criticized the order because of the easing pressure from infections in the city. And he believes that the municipality should cover the purchase of bandages for the population. He was furious that people who couldn’t afford to buy face masks were excluded from public transportation.
Roald Arentz from Rødt proposed that transport companies ensure that drivers and passengers have bandages in taxis and drivers / employees in buses and other public transport services.
KrF’s Geirmund Lykke proposed that transport companies are obliged to inform passengers about good hygiene of sanitary napkins, changing / washing sanitary napkins before each trip. This is because he feared that using a bandage incorrectly would increase the risk of infection.
The conservatives did not want to extend the order, beyond the proposal of the municipal director.

Malvik recommends following the advice
In a press release late Tuesday, the Malvik Municipality states that they encourage all residents to follow the Trondheim Municipality’s decision.
There are currently no orders for the use of face masks in Malvik, but the municipal chief, Realf Ording Helgesen, says that the infection situation is closely monitored and in the event of a negative change, orders for the use of face masks there.
– Mortal in other municipalities
The proposed bandage order came from City Manager Morten Wolden following a professional medical evaluation by the City Chief.
– We see the fatal consequences that the infection has when it reaches the weakest, as it has happened in Eidsvoll. We have a flat curve in Trondheim, but the infected Trondheim have many close contacts, Wolden said in his introduction.
He said the recommendation for a bandage on the bus at rush hour had resulted in disappointingly low bandage use.
He and the mayor had a meeting with AtB Tuesday morning about the practical implementation of the order.
