NEW LOVE: On Monday comes Runar Søgaard’s memoir “God gave us ten commandments, I have broken nine.” He himself thinks it should be obvious what command he has not broken: – I have defeated, but not to death, he says. Photo: Janne Møller-Hansen

In connection with the launch of his own book, Runar Søgaard (53) admits that he is currently in love.

He also appears in the dedications of the book “God gave us ten commandments; I have broken nine of them”, where he warmly thanks not only his parents, God and his three children Amadeus, Jackson and Presley, but also an anonymous man who obviously has made a great impression on Søgaard in his work on the book.

Absolutely no one has touched me like you! And no one has affected my life as deeply as you. You, like no other, have opened my eyes to different things and have made me feel feelings that I have never felt before », he writes.

When VG asks him directly if he is in love, Runar Søgaard answers the following:

– How do you know that? Well, you are thinking about the preface. Yes, I am guilty of that accusation, yes, says Søgaard.

In his loving appropriation he uses the name Agape, which means unconditional love:

“I had only read and heard about Agape until the day I met you, but now I know
in fact what is it and how does it feel“, Keep going.

– Does this person have a name?

– You can ask directly. But I don’t want to comment on that!

“God gave us ten commandments; I have broken nine of them” is a review of Runar Søgaard’s life so far: ups and downs, from weddings and marriages with Scandinavian pop favorite Carola, to a confrontation with the Free Church and the Word of Life, to jetset life and trouble with the law. He was sentenced to prison last year but appealed on the spot. The appeal will emerge during the winter.

He also claims in the book to bring the truth about what happened when he left Carola.

– Why do you have to write in such detail about the divorce with Carola?

– I felt that I was forced to do it this way; To write a book about my life, my adventures, my successes, my adversities and my failed actions, you have to be honest. If not, it will not be credible and it will not feel good. Stories that are revealing about others are stories that I think are necessary for readers to understand me and my decisions, he says.

More content

Its publisher, Vigmostad & Bjørke, confirms to VG that Carola Häggkvist should be familiar with the content.

– Both Carola and Runar’s other wife, Jessica, have been introduced to the chapters that deal with them. None of them have had objections or comments on the book, says Anne Iversen at Vigmostad & Bjørke.

VG has also contacted Carola’s management by email.

– Regarding your questions, no comments are given. Carola has not participated in any text on the Runar book, she says in the email from management, signed Lotta B. Waern.

Søgaard believes his marriage to Carola gave him an unexpected surprise when the relationship ended in 2000.

– She was the darling, I became a bad boy. I thought in my simplicity that when I divorced, I could go incognito, a completely normal boy. It never happened that way. The center of attention is a double-edged sword. I tried to walk away when I was married to Jessica, because she really enjoyed it. So I stopped going to celebrity parties, premieres and things like that. The strange thing was that even though I stayed away, the writings about me continued anyway, he says.

Today, however, he looks more forward than backward.

– I have never felt so passionate, so happy and so curious and so hungry for life as today.

– It’s because you’re in love, it’s …

– Haha, nice try! But it was so when you turned forty, you thought; Oh shit! And when you turned fifty, you expected moss to grow. But everything changes. I think that the curiosity that has always been latent in me has only grown over the years. I have a great appetite for life and I surround myself with curious people. I am excited to meet new people and hear about their experiences and challenges; that’s when I have the feeling that I still have a lot to do.
