In connection with the first rest day, the riders and support personnel were tested for the coronavirus for the first time since the start of the Tour de France in Nice.

Tour de France confirms in a press release just before the start of stage 10 that no rider has tested positive, but that four Cofidis support staff employees, AG2R La Mondiale, Ineos Grenadiers and Mitchelton-Scott have tested positive.

This means that all riders and teams can continue the Tour de France. A total of 841 people were evaluated.

Tour de France boss Christian Prudhomme has also tested positive and is in quarantine for seven days. Prudhomme had French Prime Minister Jean Castex in the car on Saturday’s stage.

If two or more per team test positive, regardless of whether they are riders or support staff members, the team will be expelled from the Tour.

There will be a new crown test in connection with the next rest day. Some teams, like Alexander Kristoff’s UAE Team Emirates, also test between the three official crown events.

Deceuninck-Quick Step sports director Patrick Lefevere took to Twitter and reached out to the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

The newspaper writes that the team’s bus driver had to be re-examined after a laboratory failure. However, the second sample was negative.
