Coach legend Nils Arne Eggen (79) is currently in hospital after what he calls “explosive pain” in his elbow. He does not know at the moment how long it will remain there.
– You know, I don’t know, says Eggen by phone from St Olav Hospital, Orkdal ward.
There have been many ailments for the RBK legend in recent years, with both legs being amputated as a result. Eggen, tired, tells VG, from the hospital bed, that this time it is an inflammation in the elbow.
– I’m not that resistant anymore, so it turned out that I had to be treated again, says the former successful Rosenborg coach.
He’s been much better in shape for a long time, but Eggen says eight days ago what he calls “explosive pain” entered his elbow. Then he had to react. There were antibiotics and hospitalization.
The egg has been hurting there for a while, but only now has it got so bad that he had to do something about it.
Nils Arne Eggen (78) in the risk zone: “It’s okay to live, but we must also have something to live for”
When VG spoke to him Thursday afternoon, he was tired. But he agreed that we wrote about his last hospitalization, with the following message:
– I’m under surveillance and I’m tired. So now I have to get some sleep.
When we go to hang up, Nils Arne Eggen adds:
– This is not a crown, no …
And well it was then.
