Tottenham visited Molineux with three consecutive league games without a win. In the search for the three points, coach José Mourinho had placed the team in an unknown triple formation.

Raúl Jiménez sat in the stands for the first time since the skull fracture he suffered against Arsenal in late November. Unfortunately for the Mexican, it was going to be a great opening in the game for his team.

– It takes very little before he rages again

It only took 57 seconds before the visiting team’s Tanguy Ndombele found the net for the Spurs.

Then he had more reasons to cheer at the end of the game. Romain Saïss headed in the tie and secured points four minutes before the end.

The game in Molineux ended 1-1 and the Spurs series without a league win is now four games.

– Tottenham owned the opening minute, but Wolverhampton owned the rest of the game, TV 2 commentator Peder Mørtvedt said when the final signal sounded.

José Mourinho was very unhappy that he smoked two points at the end of the game.

– I want you to ask the players what I told them during the break. There you have all the answers, says the Tottenham manager to BeIn Sport after the game.

– I feel sick. Normally, against a team like the Wolves, you have to see the positive, because they can beat everyone. They can get points from all the best teams. We had 90 minutes to score more, but we didn’t, says a frustrated Mourinho.

I asked for herjet

Ndombele’s goal was only the sixth of Spurs’ 26 Premier League goals this season that were not scored by Harry Kane or Heung-min Son. On TV 2’s Premier League podcast, Stamsø-Møller called for more participation from players other than Son and Kane.

– Ndombele was the best man on the pitch, not just because of the goal. A perfect start for him, but it seemed like it took away his confidence after that, TV 2 soccer expert Simen Stamsø-Møller said during the break.

TV 2 soccer expert and former Tottenham goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt was also impressed by Ndombele against Wolves. The Frenchman has started eleven league games for Spurs this season. Throughout last year’s season, he started twelve.

– You have come a long way with Mourinho. In the same way that Alli is now in the freezer, he was in the freezer in many ways. He chose to take that fight and join the team and he has done it.

– It’s an attraction, Tanguy Ndombele, said TV 2 commentator Peder Mørtvedt in the second round after a spectacular dribble.

– Unpredictable, in a good way

The visiting team came out in a hundred in the Midlands. Ben Davies saw Heung-min Son run in the back room before half a minute was played. The corner kick that followed resulted in the opening goal, where Davies was again involved. The Welsh defender sent a cross to Ndombele who fired from space back. Spurs 1-0 after 57 seconds.

TV 2 soccer expert and former Premier League goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt was unimpressed by Rui Patrício’s participation in the goal.

– The vast majority of goalkeepers leave the line, but he remains standing. Rui Patricio is a good goalkeeper and has been a good signing, but this is his thing, that is, Thorstvedt said during the break.

– Liverpool will have to buy in January

Daniel Podence received the ball from Adama Traoré with twelve minutes left, but the Portuguese shot from the edge of the Spurs area was easily stopped by Hugo Lloris.

Then Ndombele hit the right hand two minutes later, but Sergio Reguilón’s header was never dangerous. Then the opportunity was greater when the French-Spanish duo combined at 20 minutes. The French striker entered a violent split and crossed back into the corner of the Wolves’ penalty area. The shot went straight to the clips of goalkeeper Patrício.

– Then I like him, when he dares to try things. It is not so easy to know what is coming, but very often something arrives when it has the day. It’s hit or miss, in a good way, Stamsø-Møller said about Ndombele in the break chat.

The Wolves then got a bit more into the game and produced more chances late in the inning. Fábio Silva hit the ball outside the wall of the net in the 27th minute, before Podence approached with a half volley five minutes before the break. 0-1 at halftime.

Wolves with late EQ

In the second half, it was the home team that went tough from the beginning. Fábio Silva tried a shot, but from an uncomfortable position, sending the ball to the visiting fans.

– He wants to put this dagger on Sean Dyche

The Wolves continued their race towards Lloris. Neto prepared Neves midway through the second half. The latter tried to land a shot on the crossbar from outside the penalty area, but the ball went past a defender on the corner kick, which ended in nothing.

Two minutes later, the Wolves’ number seven approached from the right side and released towards the goal, but again the attempt was blocked for a corner kick.

The violent push towards the goal finally ended in a goal. Romain Saïss headed in for the equalizer after a corner kick four minutes before regulation time ended and secured a deserved point for the Wolves.

– Yes, today we may be a bit disappointed. We started the game conceding a bad goal. Afterwards it is more difficult to come back against a team like Tottenham, but I think we control the game. We deserved more than a draw, Saïss tells Sky Sports after the match.

It could have been three in extra time, but Fábio Silva avoided a great opportunity when his weak head ended up in the hands of Lloris.

Tottenham are now in fifth place in the Premier League with 26 points. Wolverhampton is 11th with its 21st.
