437 school students, 48 teachers, 22 kindergarten children, 6 employees in a nursing home and 2 kindergarten employees are in quarantine, according to the municipality’s summary.
On Friday, 40 new corona cases were reported in Fredrikstad and nine in Sarpsborg. All the cases in Fredrikstad and eight of the nine in Sarpsborg are linked to the same celebration that took place in Skjeberg in the Al-Ghadir religious community. In total, there are more than 150 infected in the outbreak.

She says that as long as the infection has not moved outside the relevant environment, the municipality is in control.
The municipality of Fredrikstad also calls on people to take the situation seriously and comply with isolation and quarantine.

Sofie Lund Danielsen, municipal chief physician, says Fredrikstad municipality will not impose further restrictions on the population as long as there are no signs of increased infection in society. But she asks people to take the recommendations and the rules seriously.
– We must all accept that the coronavirus is as contagious in Fredrikstad as it is in the rest of the world. Many times we do not know who is the carrier of the infection until the virus has spread. Considering that we now have many infected in our district, the probability of getting infected is higher than this summer, says Mayor Jon-Ivar Nygård in the press release.
