Two new cases of infection have been registered in Molde on Friday night. The infection in the city is related to worship services in a congregation.

So there are now 28 corona-infected in Molde so far in November, writes Romsdals Budstikke.

– We are still working to get an overview of the situation, says Mayor Torgeir Dahl in a press release. He convened crisis management in the municipality of Molde for a review on Friday night.

Leisure activities for children and young people will run as planned this weekend, despite the fact that the municipality of Molde is facing a large and serious outbreak of infection, the municipality writes.

More than 300 quarantined after service

The outbreak in Molde is related to an Eritrean congregation in the city, reports NRK.

The head and contact person for the Twahdo Eritrean Orthodox congregation in the city, Tesfayesus G. Atsmu, says they had a service on Saturday and Sunday in the small Bergmo church, and that one of the participants turned out to be infected. There should be 35 participants on Saturday and 35 on Sunday.

So far, more than 300 people have been quarantined. Atsmu deeply regrets the situation.

– We have followed all the measures and have done everything possible. This is not happening because we have broken the law, it is happening because crown is a very contagious disease.

One of the two who were diagnosed with covid-19 on Friday works at the Råkhaugen care center. At the moment, the center is closed to visitors.

The municipality has previously stated that an employee at the Kirkebakken care center is infected. Three patients and four employees have had close contact with the person in question and have been quarantined.

– There are still many of the responses to the samples taken today, but it is gratifying to be able to confirm that none of the three patients at the Kirkebakken care center who were quarantined tested positive, says municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal. They still have ten days to complete in quarantine.

Several kindergartens and schools in the city have also infected students or staff. The entire Øvre Bergmo kindergarten and an apartment in the St. Sunniva kindergarten will be closed for ten days, while the Cecilienfryd kindergarten and Romsdal upper secondary school will be closed on Friday. At both Langmyra School and the Molde Adult Education Center, one class is under quarantine.
