The closure in 25 municipalities in eastern Norway has already led to layoffs. Navigation chief Hans-Christian Holte believes the range may be greater than in November.
– We do not know how big it will be, but it can quickly become somewhat bigger than in November, Holte tells E24 and refers to the so-called second crown wave before Christmas.
He says Nav’s assessment is that a few tens of thousands may be laid off, but if there will be 20,000, 30,000 or more, it is too early to say anything about it.
Nav figures will appear on Tuesday next week, showing the direct results of the government shutdown in the eastern region.
