Cecilie Leganger lost the second night test of the year.

Attention turned to this week’s ‘Champions’ theme, where the sports heroes challenged themselves on memorizing, counting, counting, reacting, balancing and concentrating on three tasks.

In the first task, where the participants had to count different objects in a limited area, and then remember the number and solve a calculation with the number they found, there were two who struggled more than the others: Cecilie Leganger (45) and Magnus Midtbø (32).

The two also did not do better in the next test, where their reaction was tested, and in the last test, the handball star and the sports climber were at the bottom of the result list. However, in the task of balancing, Midtbø managed to recover relatively well, while Leganger disappeared early.

In the total summary, he ended up at the bottom and had to get it out in the night test. She took Midtbø with her.

– Bad day at work

In the night event, the two people from Bergen, Leganger and Midtbø, compete on balance, and the former handball player must ultimately find himself defeated, after Midtbø wins two of the three rounds.

The 45-year-old tells Nettavisen that she didn’t think she would smoke on this particular themed week.

– I was not as prepared to smoke that day, I was more prepared on the days when there were a lot of resistance exercises. In that sense, I was surprised, he says.

– It was just a bad day at work.

However, Leganger believes that he deserved that Midtbø could remain in the competition.

– I think Magnus deserved to win, because he did a good job. That way it was fair, though of course I think it’s sad. And he’s from Bergen too, so it was good that at least one of the Bergen people was able to continue, he laughs.

I traveled home in pain

Cecilie Leganger does not hide the fact that she needed to relax and rest a bit after the participation of “Masters of the Masters”, but she could not do it immediately. On the way home to Bergen, a wisdom tooth began to hurt.

– I actually came home with a toothache, so when I drove up the mountain on my way home I was incredibly happy that it didn’t come when I was still racing. Then I go to bed. Fortunately, it passed, but the first day I was completely unconscious, he says, adding that the pain thankfully went away on its own.

– So I haven’t thrown it away yet. But now the dentist will probably call, so there will be another trip there, laughs Leganger.

When the toothache subsided, he took a well-earned rest.

– Then, of course, it was the home of the partner to relax and welcome me back. The “master of masters” was a huge experience, and then they needed some kind of processing. It required a lot of energy and focus from morning to night, he says.

– I’ve never been so tired

The knocked-out participant believes she deserved to have physically smoked on the second night of this year’s test.

– In that sense, he deserved it, although I would have liked to spend more time. I’ve probably been rusty and a bit out of place in recent years, the former handball star tells Nettavisen.

She doesn’t hide the fact that it was a tough competition and she is proud of her own achievements.

– I’m very happy that I said yes. It has been physically demanding, but beyond that it has been a lot of fun. And I think it’s very positive that I was able to test my own limits, because I will probably never lose my stamina that way. Now I really had to go down to the basement to do some exercises, and I never thought I was as tired as I was, she says, adding:

– That’s why I’m glad I dared to join, even though I didn’t have the best conditions. I had never trained like that before, and my pattern training didn’t quite come through.

Leganger also believes that it is good to be a part of something that unites Norwegians at a different time.

– “Master of the Masters” is a family show without intrigue, where even the competitors cheer each other on. So I am very happy that they have managed to implement it this year too, because it is very nice when you feel at home which is something that brings the family together when you have no other offers to go to, he says.
