Until the last firefight, Mars Olsbu Røiseland, Dorothea Wierer and Tiril Eckhoff were together in the battle for victory in the joint outing at Hochfilzen, and it was the first that knocked the others out.

With fast and accurate shots, he clearly put the trio first, even though the other two rivals also shot full house.

Wierer and Eckhoff took the fight with more than ten seconds to catch up.

They failed, but the Norwegian biathletes have been unstoppable at the Austrian Hochfilzen. Tiril Eckhoff won both the sprint and the chase start, and with Olsbu Røiseland’s joint victory at the start, the podium was crowned by a Norwegian in all three races.

Eckhoff completed an adventurous weekend with second place in the weekend’s final practice after parking Wierer on the final lap.

– I’m very happy. I get it done, Mars wins and it has been a really good Norwegian weekend, Eckhoff tells SVT, saying that he will now take a Christmas vacation with a clear conscience.

The two Norwegians are now ready to fight together for the World Cup. Both have opened the season in a fantastic way.

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold had major problems in horizontal shooting and it seemed that only four shots were registered in the first shot. He eventually rose to twelfth place after ten hits from standing shot.

Karoline Knotten came in at 13th after 19 hits.

In the men’s joint start, both Sturla Holm Lægreid and Johannes Thingnes Bø took the victory on the last shot, but older brother Tarjei Bø finished masterfully and secured a long-awaited third place.
