Recent Republican congresswoman, Trump supporter and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has managed to become a highly controversial figure in American politics.

From night to Friday Norwegian time, after a long session in the House of Representatives, she was removed from the job of the Congressional committee.

230 delegates, including 11 Republicans, voted to remove Greene. 199 voted against.

– fails us

– The reason I ran for the election is because I do not respect what the authorities have become, Greene says during a press conference on Friday afternoon.

He says he loves his country and the freedom of Americans.

– The authorities are failing us, she says and refers, among other things, to the country’s debt.

– For decades, the authorities have failed American workers, they have sent our jobs to other countries. We have opened our borders wide, to be inundated by illegal immigrants.

– Freedom of expression is important. Yesterday when the Democrats and 11 of my Republican colleagues decided to take the committee work away from me, they took my district vote.

Call the Supreme Court a circus

She pays tribute to former President Donald Trump.

– A record number of Americans voted for Trump, a record number of Republicans voted for Trump. You want to know why? They loved his politics, they loved his fight, they loved that for once we had a president who would defend America and American business. He was a president who did not care about the color of his skin, because God created us all equal.

She says Republican voters still support Trump.

– The party is yours, it does not belong to anyone else, he assures.

She calls the upcoming Supreme Court case a circus.

– It is a circus that allows the media to get many clicks and audience. And it’s pretty disgusting. Everyone here knows that he didn’t cause the attack on the Capitol. Neither me nor the Republicans. The responsibility rests with those who entered the Capitol and those who planned this.

Towards the Democrats

He walks up to the Democrats and tells them that they now have a “tyrannically controlled government,” so to speak.

– We have Joe Biden writing presidential orders, doing what he wants there in the White House. We have Pelosi leading the Democrats in Congress to do whatever they want. They don’t care what Republicans have to say or what our voters have to say, Greene says.

The Republicans refused to remove her from committee work themselves, and so the Democrats began the process. It all started after several provocative and false statements came out from Greene.

These are pre-election statements.

Among other things, he has supported the QAnon conspiracy theory, suggested that several mass shootings were staged, and claimed that Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, is guilty of treason and should be executed.

– It belongs to the past

The House vote took place a few hours after she expressed remorse for some of her statements.

“These were statements that belong to the past, and these things do not represent my values,” Greene said Thursday.

In her ten-minute speech, she described herself as a “sinner,” but never directly apologized for the rhetoric that many have criticized her for using.

When asked by the press if there is anything he has said that he would regret now, instead of saying he regrets, he replies “of course.”

– I’m sorry to have said the things that are not correct and offensive. I mean it and I say it with joy. It’s good to say when we’ve done something wrong, Greene says Friday.

Although both Republicans and Democrats have previously punished their own party colleagues by depriving them of their positions, the majority in the House of Representatives had never before advocated for the removal of a politician from the other party.
