The German magician, better known as half of the dug Siegried & Roy, died at the age of 75 due to complications from the coronavirus.
Illusionist and magician Roy Horn died Friday at age 75. Reports, among other things, CBS.
“The world has lost one of the best magicians, but I have lost my best friend,” Siegfried Fishchbacher, the other half of the duo, said in a statement according to CBS.
In April it became known that Horn had been infected with the coronavirus.
– From the moment we met, I knew that Roy and I could change the world together. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, nor Roy without Siegfried. Roy was a warrior his entire life, including the past few days, Fishchbacher continues.

Survived the tiger attack
One of the most famous moments on the scene was when Horn was nearly killed by his own tiger. He himself thought it was not the tiger’s fault.
“It was an accident,” he said at the time.
After the incident Horn became disabled and had to use a wheelchair for an extended period.
A few months later, Horn opened up to several television interviews in which he recounted his version of the incident. He said he suddenly felt dizzy on stage and fell. The tiger grabbed him by the neck and pulled him off the stage. He also had a heart attack during the episode.
The magician goes on to say that the Montecore tiger acted in the best sense.
“Montecore saw the signs and tried to save me,” said Horn.

Las Vegas stars
The German duo met in 1957, debuting on stage in Las Vegas some ten years later. There they held regular shows throughout the year, most of the time for full stands.
They performed mainly at the venerable “El Mirage” hotel.
According to The Guardian, the duo performed around 5,000 shows, attracted over ten million viewers, and earned more than $ 1 billion between 1990 and 2001.
Siegfried and Roy were best known for their use of white tigers and white lions in their appearances.
The animal welfare organization PETA tried several times to end the protests with the animals.
The duo has made several films, among others. Siegfried and Roy: the magic box and Siegfried and Roy: the miracle.
