The infection trend in Bergen is increasing and there was a long queue when the Spelhaugen test station reopened on Sunday. In a few hours, up to 400 were tested for corona.

– They’ve tried 400 since we started a little before 1pm today. It’s absolutely incredible, over a hundred an hour, he says. emergency manager Dagrun Waag Linchausen told VG a little after 5 p.m. She says cars were lining up on several of the side streets.

It was Bergens Tidende who first wrote about the strong turnout at the Spelhaugen test station in Fyllingsdalen, which has been closed since Wednesday after employees reported symptoms that are consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning.

I had to fix the ventilation

– The ventilation system had been deactivated for the count, says Linchausen, who can say that they have made improvements to the facilities, which were previously used by the Norwegian Motor Vehicle Inspectorate.

The emergency manager states that they have changed the motor of the ventilation system and they set a warning light that comes on if the system needs to be shut down again. Also, they have a carbon alarm on the wall that flashes if the values are too high and employees use personal carbon meters.

– We encourage people to come and test themselves, especially in the 20-29 age group. I think the youngsters have been very good and we, over 60, can come and try ourselves a little more, says Linchausen, who has tried himself several times.

The infection increases

The Municipality of Bergen states on its website that there are a total of 1,873 infections recorded in Bergen as of February 28.

– We have increasing infection rates in Bergen, says Linchausen.

At the end of November, Bergen will open a new test station in Festplassen, by several already renamed “test site”, in the city center.
