Liverpool fought back and won after Berge scored – VG

(Liverpool 2-1 Sheffield United) Sander Berge gave Sheffield United the lead from the chalk mark after 13 minutes. But then Liverpool fought back with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota in the lead roles.

The game had just over ten minutes when the Liverpool team had to hold their breath. After a VAR check, Sheffield United received a penalty kick after Fabinho’s tackle was put into the penalty area. And no one took the punishment from a Norwegian perspective. Sander Berge took the ball and braced himself. From eleven meters he sent Alisson to one side and the ball to the other.

But unfortunately for Sheffield United and Berge, Liverpool woke up later in the match and, following goals from Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, Liverpool won the match against Sheffield United.

– It’s disappointing. It’s been a bit like that this season. This was probably our best match this year, and I feel like we are so close to a new goal at the same time that we are far away, Berge tells Sky Sports, who despite the disappointment pulls a small smile.

– It was tough as expected. Sheffield United is a good team that is tough to beat but we got the three points we needed, Henderson smiles at Sky Sports after the game.

I sign with the first of the year

Thus, Berge put Sheffield United in the lead after 13 minutes of play at Anfield. It was also his second goal in the Premier League when he scored against Tottenham last season.

But the home team, which had handled more ball in the first half, scored a goal at half-time. After 41 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from outside the box by Aaron Ramsdale could have ended in another goal for Senegal. On the return, however, Firmino appeared, and with an open goal ahead, he could not miss. Thus, it was 1-1 between the teams at halftime.

That goal was also Firmino’s first in the Premier League this season.

VAR cancellation

In the second half, Liverpool continued to have a lot of ball. In the 63rd minute, the visitors leveled the score after VAR smashed through the middle to score 1 – 1.

Trent Alexander-Arnold found Mohamed Salah in the box, and the Egyptian put the ball into the goal. However, the photos showed that the attacker was in a fine offside when the post was hit, thus the score was canceled.

But Liverpool had more to come. And that just a minute after the disallowed goal. Mané looked up and jabbed a pole in Jota’s forehead. The player who signed for Liverpool this summer stabbed the ball into the goal and put Liverpool ahead.

When the clock ticked 80 minutes, Salah had a great opportunity alone with Ramsdale. The edge cut from the right and elegantly hit the ball over the goalkeeper. However, the ball went into the metal and returned to the clips at Ramsdale.
