The “China virus” is what President Donald Trump prefers, and has most often been referred to as by health professionals, the media, and other heads of state, called the corona virus.
– Coming from China
For this reason, he has received harsh criticism in his country and, naturally, he has also incited China.
– The virus comes from China. I want to be exact, Trump has said about his name in the virus.
Trump also claimed to have seen evidence that the new coronavirus originated in a laboratory in Wuhan.
– What happened is terrible. If it was an accident or if it started by accident and if it continued with more, or if someone did it on purpose, Trump said during a press conference on May 1.
When Trump initially insisted that he believed China had good control of the virus and that President Xi Jinping would likely handle the fires, the rhetoric eventually became very rude, and has repeatedly suggested that China may have allowed the virus to spread.
“24 lies”
To respond to criticism and accusations made by Trump, and other prominent US politicians. In the US, and some media outlets, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has reprinted what they call “24 lies,” listing 24 allegations they saw as “rebuttal.”
“In the past, some American politicians and the media have fabricated ludicrous accusations and lies of some kind, to blame China for its inadequate response to Covid-19,” the ministry begins, citing Abraham Lincoln.
“Sometimes you can fool all people and parts of people, but you cannot fool all people all the time,” is the Lincoln quote that the Chinese have used.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is covering its review of the “24 lies” with links to scientific studies, renowned journals and the World Health Organization (WHO).
They argue that the virus was created in a laboratory in Wuhan, that China spread the virus to the world, that China has not been opened, that the Chinese political system is the root of the problem, etc.
Virus distances
But, as Reuters points out, China’s dealings with the truth are somewhat approximate. Chinese authorities cite media suggesting that the Americans may have been infected with the coronavirus before the first case was confirmed in Wuhan, although there is no evidence that it is true.
In the 11,000-word letter, the Chinese are also doing their best to distance themselves from the virus and the nickname “the China virus.”
“The WHO has made it clear that naming a disease should not be associated with a particular country or location,” they write, before also trying to question where the virus originated.
“Although they were the first place to report the virus, it does not mean that the virus is from Wuhan.” In fact, it has not been identified where it came from. “
The Chinese Ministry is also trying to refute allegations that China reacted too late, tried to hide what was happening in Wuhan, and did not transmit the information early enough.
They even put together a timeline to show that the authorities were “open and responsible” and came out with information on time.
The Chinese then choose to exclude that the mayor of Wuhan has admitted that Chinese authorities did not release information about the virus quickly enough, CNN said.
The mayor noted, among other things, that the bureaucratic system itself delayed the notification process.
– The doctor was not alert
Chinese authorities are also trying to back up Dr. Li Wenliang’s claims.
It posted a disturbing notice on the Chinese messaging app WeChat on December 30 of last year, about a SARS-like virus.
Li was punished by the police for “spreading rumors” when he warned friends and fellow students. On February 7 of this year he died of the virus himself, after being infected by a patient.
Li has been referred to by the Western media as an alert. It wasn’t, says China. He is now portrayed as a faithful member of the Communist Party, noting that he was honored after his death for working with covid-19.
“Presenting Dr. Li Wenliang as an ‘anti-establishment hero’ or ‘announcer’ is disrespectful to Li and his family. It is a purely political manipulation without any decency,” they write.
These claims coincide with the impression that the Chinese authorities have wanted to leave after Li’s death: that he was a faithful member of the Communist Party and that he dedicated his life to fighting the coronavirus.
Authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Li’s warnings and deaths, which ended up being “withdrawn” by Representative Li’s police. They blamed the local police, saying they had handled the case incorrectly.
trade agreement
The latest chapter in the war of words between the United States and China is that some Chinese advisers have called for a reevaluation of the partial trade agreement between the United States and China, according to the English newspaper Global Times.
You can look so far, we created President Trump.
“I’m not interested in that. I’m not the smallest neighbor,” Trump said Monday night, according to NTB.
