Seven Republican senators opposed the majority in their own party when the issue of blame was decided last week in the Supreme Court case against Donald Trump. They believed the former president was guilty of the charge of inciting the attack on Congress.
Among them was Senator Richard Burr, who is now coming under fire from Republicans in North Carolina. Burr will not be running for re-election next fall.
Now Lara Trump is being highlighted as a hot candidate in the fight to take her Senate seat.
Lindsey Graham believes that Lara Trump is a safe candidate for the Senate.

“The biggest winner I can think of after the entire Supreme Court case is Lara Trump,” Lindsey Graham told The Guardian.
The Republican has been a member of the South Carolina Senate since 2003 and has been a key supporter of Donald Trump since he won the 2016 election.
Graham says he will support Lara Trump because he believes she represents the future of the party.

As early as November, it emerged that Lara Trump would consider running for senator in the state of North Carolina, according to the New York Times.
Previously, she had been singled out as the frontrunner to fill Richard Burr’s place as the Republican Senate candidate in 2022, according to a poll by BUSR and Lee Business School, reproduced by The Hill.
During the 2020 Republican National Convention, Lara Trump took the opportunity to pay tribute to her father-in-law, Donald Trump.
She then spoke about how women in America have fought for the right to vote throughout history and recounted about a father-in-law who gave her a role in the 2016 election campaign.
“Although I had no political experience, he believed in me and supported me,” she said.

Lara Trump, 38, is married to Donald Trump’s second youngest son, Eric Trump.
She previously worked as a personal trainer and television producer, and for the past four years she has been an advisor to her father-in-law and worked for his presidential campaign.
Lara Trump has previously been involved in various controversies. Among other things, when during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign he claimed that Joe Biden was old and grumpy.
She has also been criticized for taunting Biden for her stuttering. Something he quickly said he hadn’t done.
In November 2020, Lara reached out to her husband Eric Trump and former Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani in Pennsylvania. Then they thought the Democrats had cheated during the election and said they would sue.
Later, in January 2021, he defended the alleged election fraud that Donald Trump had far more supporters at his election rallies than Biden. According to her, it proved that the vote numbers must have been falsified.
