The case is being updated!

Kristiansund writes in a press release.

It was during Sunday’s game between Vålerenga and Kristiansund in Oslo that a microphone caught Kastrati calling VIF coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo a “fucking street sweeper”. Referee Tom Harald Hagen said after the game that he did not understand the wording.

In the break interview with Eurosport, Kastrati confirmed that he used the word “sweeper”. Late Sunday night, he apologized for the VG writing. He claims that he did not know what the word meant.

“We have been informed that the Norwegian Football Association (NFF) has launched a review of the case today and we will await the conclusions of this,” Kristiansund writes in Monday’s press release.

It was sent after a meeting at the Kristiansund stadium. It took place on Monday morning, after the team returned from Oslo.

Will perform a separate review

The club declares that it will conduct a separate review of incidents and their handling, and that it will conclude on the basis of this review. It is the club administration and the club board who will carry out the review, they write.

“In this work, we will get the player’s version, as well as get more detailed information from the technical and support staff who were present at the Intility Arena on Sunday night. While the case is being processed in the NFF and in the club, Flamur Kastrati will not participate in the training sessions or the games, ”the club writes, after a match at the Kristiansund stadium.

Kristiansund writes that coach Christian Michelsen, on behalf of the club, transmitted an “immediate and unreserved apology” to Vålerenga’s sports management just after Sunday night’s game.

Neither the club nor the player will comment further on the matter while it is being processed, the press release says.

Standard procedure

On Monday morning, NFF competition director Nils Fisketjønn said that NFF was in the process of watching Sunday’s much-discussed episode.

– We have started gathering information on the case and will have a meeting at 12 o’clock on Monday. It is standard procedure in such cases, the competition director told NTB before the meeting.

After the meeting, it will probably be clear whether the NFF will pursue the case or not, but there are many indications that there will be a backlash. The case will first end up at the prosecution table, which will then possibly forward it to the NFF sentencing and sanctions committee.
