After several hours of debate during the Oslo Labor Party digital nomination meeting tonight, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Leader of the Oslo Labor Party, Kamzy Gunaratnam (32) drew the longest drop: he won the party vote against Zaynab Al -Samai (33) to take his place after Jonas Gahr Støre on the list for next year’s parliamentary elections.
The majority of the nominating committee wanted Al-Samarai in second place. But the minority of the committee won the battle, and in the debate most messages were in favor of Gunaratnam. Gunaratnam won by 137 votes to 119 for Al-Samarai.

Storting representative Espen Barth Eide took third place and former LO Secretary and former Head of Commerce and Office Lise Sundnes took fourth place without debate.
Al-Samarai withdrew
Siri Gåsemyr Staalesen, who today has a seat in the Storting, was chosen in sixth place. After losing the battle for second place, Zaineb Al-Samarai was nominated in sixth place. But he clarified that he did not want to challenge Staalesen and that he was withdrawing from the list.

Many speakers thought that Kamzy Gunaratnam is a voter magnet that the Oslo Labor Party should have in the Storting, which has great appeal among young people, adults and minorities. The fact that he survived the Utøya massacre and represents the July 22 generation also emphasized many things.
Those who spoke for Al-Samarai emphasized her experiences as a refugee, and she has experienced child poverty in her body.
Al-Samarai now works as a trade policy advisor at the Norwegian Shipowners Association, and her knowledge of trade policy was also emphasized. She has also been an active soccer player and holds positions in the Norwegian Sports Confederation.
But he lost the party vote to Gunaratnam, who is nominated on the spot after Jonas Gahr Støre.
Agnes Viljugrein won a vote for seventh place with Jon Reidar Øian. There was also a battle for eighth place between Øian and Farukh Querishi, which Øian won. Hannah Gitmark captured ninth place, while Querishi placed in tenth place.
