– Just to take off your hat – VG

STAVANGER (VG) (Viking – Aalesund 5-2) Two new goals from Zymer Bytyqi (24), three penalty kicks, fourth consecutive victory for Viking and seven goals were some of the ingredients when Viking beat Aalesund.

In his 200th match with Viking, Zymer Bytyqi once again became the greatest hero when Viking claimed his fourth victory in a row. With two goals, including another dream goal, he was a major contributor to Viking winning 5-2 at the Aalesund jumbo table.

– I’m in great shape. I dry off more and do what I’m good at. So it looks pretty cool. It probably wasn’t any better in the Elite Series. I don’t think so, Bytyqi tells VG.

– It’s just to take off your hat for that score there. He complies during the day, like the rest of the team, says Veton Berisha to VG, and aims for Bytyqi to score the free throw.

For Aalesund, the crisis continues, and Lars Arne Nilsen had to see that it was his third consecutive loss as Sunnmøringen coach, Aalesund’s fifth in a row overall.

Fortunately for Aalesund, both Start and Mjøndalen lost, so the distance to qualifying is still eight points.

– This was incredibly close to winning. We played a very good game until minute 65, when he scored the penalty. The result sounds ugly, but it is due to two traders, Nilsen tells VG.

– We need a victory and we will have a mutual agreement against Mjøndalen, so it is still possible. We don’t have to think about the table, we just have to think about the next game.

But this was Bytyqi’s day. He only spent five minutes sending the home team to the lead. Jefferson de Souza had a rare opportunity early on and responded by finding Bytyqi on the field with a good post.

The fit player followed up on his two goals from last weekend against Kristiansund, slamming the ball into the net behind a hopeless Andreas Lie.

At the end of the year, the winger’s contract expires, but he will not talk about the future.

Aalesund fought back

After the score, Viking continued to control everything at SR-Bank Arena, but then Aalesund had the opportunity from the penalty spot. Simen Bolkan Nordli teamed up with Peter Orry Larsen, before he was selected by De Souza.

Bolkan Nordli was in charge of taking the penalty and put the ball to the right. When Iven Austbø jumped the other way, the tie was a given.

In the final quarter of the round, it was suddenly the guests who created opportunities in Stavanger, and Isak Dybvik Määtä, Parfait Bizoza and Bolkan Nordli all had good chances to put Aalesund in the lead. Luckily for Viking, they had a good Austbø at the back, which made sure it was 1-1 at half-time.

– We played a very good first half hour, but then we delivered a bad last quarter of the first half, and we are lucky not to go back further, says Bjarne Berntsen to VG.

In the second half, it was Viking who controlled the game, but had trouble getting through a deeply entrenched Aalesund team. After 65 minutes of play, Berisha had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. He ran forward and headed low towards Bytyqi. There he was shot at the time of the shot, and Viking was punished.

Berisha shoved him hard into the net, so it didn’t matter that Andreas Lie was on the right track. The Viking forward’s 11th goal of the season ensured Viking regained the lead.

Two free-throw pearls

After 73 minutes, Viking sent a free kick high over the area. It wasn’t a stupid choice, because the free kick went flying around the corner.

– When I take the free kick for the first time, I know what technique to use, and then it becomes difficult to execute, says satisfied Bytyqi, who now has seven goals this season.

And the goal celebration was not over, because just three minutes later veteran Rolf Daniel Vikstøl made it 4-2.

Sigurd Haugen came down to what seemed like a wrong penalty, but it wasn’t enough for Aalesund.

In extra time, Joe Bell also wanted to join the party, hitting a free kick from 20 meters up into the corner.

Thus, Viking rises to 25 points, while Aalesund remains at seven.

Next Sunday, Viking travels to Mjøndalen, while Aalesund receives a visit from Rosenborg.
