The day after Gilbert Koomson (26) failed to show up for Brann’s joint training, he confirms that he wants to leave the club.

After completing a small indoor session at Brann Stadium on Wednesday, the Ghanaian is clear to Bergens Tidende that he wants to leave the club.

– I love Brann, I’ve been loyal, but now I want to go, says Koomson to BT.

There must have been interest from Turkey in the 26-year-old attacker. In September, Brann received an offer for Koomson, said to have been close to three million crowns from a Turkish club.

When asked by BT if he sees it as a step forward from Brann to Turkey, Koomson answers yes.

On Wednesday morning a chaotic situation arose between the player and the Bergen club.

Koomson did not show up for the team’s joint training and the club said they did not know where he was or why he was not training.

On Thursday morning, the Ghanaian was at Brann Stadium two hours before the team’s planned training session. He apologized to his teammates in the locker room for the absence.

– I said I’m sorry I didn’t show up. But other than that, I didn’t do anything wrong. I have not offended anyone or misbehaved. It was just because I didn’t feel fit and because I had a lot to think about, Koomson tells BT.

He claims that he sent a message to the club doctor about why he did not attend training, but that “obviously not everyone understood.” Firefighter medic Magnus Myntevik declined to comment on the case to BT and approached sports manager Rune Soltvedt.

Soltvedt did not respond to VG’s inquiries on Thursday. Gilbert Koomson has also not responded to VG’s query.
