– It’s a disaster – VG

IN QUARANTINE: Åsane’s coach Morten Røssland did not face Jerv this weekend. He believes that the infection case in Åsane is due to the Battle of Kongsvinger. Photo: Fredrik Hagen / NTB

The Kongsvinger player felt the symptoms the day after his team played Åsane in the Obosligaen. But she wasn’t tested until five days later, and an infection was occasionally found in Åsane.

So there are crown problems in the Obosligaen, where 15 out of 16 teams have two or three league games left. But now more games can be suspended.

On Monday, Kongsvinger announced that they have a corona infection case on the team. Doctor Åge Henning Andersen tells VG that the player felt some symptoms on Monday, November 16. The match against Åsane (2–2) was played the day before.

– Why didn’t you test for symptoms right away?

– It’s … They told him Monday night to investigate the next day. Then I don’t hear anything else, until towards the second part of the week. Then he is informed about the tests, the Kongsvinger doctor responds and claims that the player stayed away from the team for the entire week and that the test took place on Saturday.

On Sunday, Kongsvinger received the answer: Positive. The day before, Kongsvinger – without this player – completed the match against obosliga Stjørdals / blink.

– Anyway, are there enough days from Monday’s symptoms to Saturday’s test?

– That’s right, Åge Henning Andersen admits.

– When I have the fasit, I wish things were different. As it was, it turned out that way, he says.

Infection in Åsane

Between these days, the infection became known in Kongsvinger’s previous opponent, Åsane. The Bergen club, which is fighting for promotion qualification and has charmed the Obosliga with its pass-safe style of play, had to be quarantined. This means that the team is not united and consequently a ban on joint training and matches for ten days after the previous close contact with an infected player.

Åsane was never informed by Kongsvinger that the Hedmarkings had a player with symptoms. Both Kongsvinger’s doctor and Åsane’s coach, Morten Røssland, tell VG. And the latter reacts strongly to him:

– It is a disaster. Completely insane. We have light with light and flashlight to know how f … we have been infected. We have done everything possible to prevent it. We rented cars so that the players did not take public transport, they wore a blindfold, did everything in our power, Åsane’s coach says desperately.

Therefore, the equipment is in quarantine and is being tested today. According to Røssland, six to seven players have expressed symptoms.

He believes that today’s relegation-threatened Kongsvinger press release is the explanation.

– Yes, then it will be two plus two. Then I realize that we most likely got infected there. It may happen, but then we should … warn me. We have been going for several days and trained, and spread the infection on the computer, Rossland reports.

Kongsvinger’s doctor, Åge Henning Andersen, is not so sure who has infected whom.

– We do not know. No other Kongsvinger player has any symptoms of any kind, he notes.

– Have you done this to shorten the quarantine period and above all to complete this Saturday’s match against Stjørdals-Blink?

– Not at all, Kongsvinger’s doctor answers. The game against Blink was won dramatically:

– Shouldn’t I have contacted Åsane anyway and let her know?

– As I say: when you have decided, there are a number of things you should have done that have not been done, says Åge Henning Andersen.

Morten Rossland also did not speculate on whether Kongsvinger expected the Test to be capable of training and playing matches. But he believes that this does not paint the reputation of football well.

– People start to think in their own way. Now the suspicions are beginning to fade. Subject to the fact that I have understood everything correctly – don’t miss this one. There may be human errors, but given the publicity he has had with the national team, with Rosenborg, it is impossible for him to miss out. When you feel symptoms, you may be sick, until proven otherwise, Åsane’s coach believes.

Three new players from the national team tested positive: – Not particularly surprising

He says he immediately informed Saturday’s original opponent, Jerv, when he became aware of the infection in his own team on Friday afternoon. Later that day, (regardless of this) a new round of infection was also found on Jerv’s computer.

Grorud’s coach Eirik Kjønø, who is battling Kongsvinger to avoid relegation from the Obosligaen, is also surprised by the handling of division rivals in this case.

– I’m not a doctor or an infection control expert, but I do ask a few questions. Here Kongsvinger can escape with a two-three-day quarantine because they waited almost a week to put their player to the test. We have dropped to include squad players as they make “something sense” and put all players to the test immediately. I hope everyone does that, says Kjønø.

– Would you have cared about this if it was a completely different Obosliga team that you didn’t fight for a place with?

– Yes, I think so, replies Grorud’s coach.

Considering measures for the Obos League

Magnus Myntevik, head of the medical council of the Norwegian Football Association, says that the Kongsvinger player should have been optimally tested faster.

– I have spoken with the Kongsvinger doctor and I understand how he thought. Then it got a bit unfortunate, unfortunately. It has nothing to do with now, says Myntevik.

– Is football bad to follow its own infection control rules during the day?

– Let’s start by saying that our rules are very good. It is a system based on trust, and it requires everyone to do what they can, not take advantage of it and try to gain a competitive advantage. You cannot be afraid of taking a player out and putting him in a worse position for the game. It’s extremely important. It’s about playing soccer. Here, all members of the soccer family must do their part, says Myntevik.

NFF demands explanation after controversial RBK training matches

It warns about possible measures in the season race for the second best soccer series in the country. While Tromsø consolidated a promotion spot this weekend, Lillestrøm, Sogndal and Ranheim play for the other.

In addition, there are promotion qualifiers and relegation battles. The infected wolves have only made 26 matches – and, curiously, they can make one and be in danger of the other.

– We are discussing what we can do now to help the Obosligaen, says Myntevik, without being able to give details of what the solution will be.
