US prosecutors are investigating what could be an attempt to purchase a pardon from President Donald Trump.

It arises from the court documents of Judge Beryl A. Howell of August 28 of this year. The court documents were released on Tuesday.

The documents have a total of 18 pages, much of which is censored from the public. Neither do the names of possible people appear.

However, the documents indicate that at least three people are involved in one way or another. Among other things, emails have been obtained between these three persons or persons associated with them.

According to CNN, it does not appear that charges have been filed in the case yet, but the Ministry of Justice is investigating the case.

The news comes just hours after Attorney General William Barr, one of President Donald Trump’s most loyal allies, said they had found no election fraud at a level that would change the outcome of the election. According to the statement, Barr is said to have been in a two-and-a-half hour meeting at the White House.

The Justice Minister’s remarks come despite repeated accusations by President Donald Trump that the election was stolen.

According to the Reuters news agency, these are money transfers to the White House and significant political contributions in exchange for the president’s pardon or postponement of the sentence.

More than 50 digital devices, including mobile phones, tablets, PCs, memory chips and laptops, have been seized from unidentified offices.

The tax authority has no evidence of direct money transfers, but believes it can prove that a person wanted forgiveness for past and future political contributions.

During his presidency, Donald Trump has pardoned 29 people, and he is expected to pardon more before his time in the White House ends.

Last week, he pardoned his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his contact with Russia in the weeks leading up to Trump’s inauguration. However, he withdrew the confession in January 2020, and Flynn’s defenders have claimed the FBI tried to catch him.

According to the New York Times, Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani discussed with the president last week whether he could receive a clemency. The lawyer himself denies that such a conversation took place.

The newspaper also writes that Trump has discussed with his advisers the possibility of pardoning his sons Donald Trump Jr., Eric and Ivanka, as well as son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.

P.S! A pardon from the president does not protect against state or local crimes.
