“Inger in Dubai” – That’s why they leave Dubai after nine years

The news came around the same time that she and her husband, Ian Houghton, announced that they were expecting twins. Previously, the couple have their daughter Kaia together, but it will be something else entirely to raise three children, versus one.

The influencer, who currently has more than 170,000 followers on Instagram, can now reveal to See and Hear that news about babies and movement go hand in hand. Also, the family at home in Norway had a lot to say about the decision.

Will be close to family

– We never intended to stay in Dubai forever, so this day had to come. The main reason for the move is that I am pregnant with twins and will need help, but also because we want to help, she says, and continues:

– My father was beaten last summer and we were already considering moving home. Now it feels even more important to be close to family, he explains.

Nor does Inger hide that the ongoing pandemic has had to say that the choice was made at this time. There has been uncertainty about whether it has been possible to travel, but fortunately the family managed to find a route that was still operational.

– We wanted to go home in Norway this summer anyway, so when we found a flight that worked, we just jumped. It is sad to leave Dubai, especially because it happens so abruptly and without the opportunity to say goodbye to friends. But it would have been sad if we moved next summer too, explains the influencer.

Since many people probably know Houghton as a Dubai resident, it may come as a little surprise that Egersund, she, her daughter, and her husband are now moving out. That’s where it comes from, and where the family plans to live for a few years.

What follows is not easy to say.

– There is a lot of life in Dubai that I want to lose without a doubt, but fortunately there is so much good with Norway that I have also lost myself, that now I have again. First of all, it will be good to be close to family and friends again, he explains.

So three will now become five, and that will happen in Norway. When the couple announced their pregnancy last week, they were able to tell Se and Listen that they hope to become parents again.

“After all, a lot is happening right now, so this was tremendously nice news in the whole thing,” Ian said, continuing:

– With this, it seems like the right time to end the Dubai adventure and return home to spend time with the family. It is sad to leave Dubai so abruptly, but we are fortunate to have so much to look forward to at home.

The influencer himself said that they are very happy with the increase in the family.

“I am overwhelmed to be completely honest, but it feels very special and we are very happy,” she told Watch and Listen, and continued:

– It was a small revolution in our lives, so now we have decided to move home after nine years in the Middle East.

Inger and Ian have been known for many years, as they both have popular training accounts on Instagram. In a previous interview with Dagbladet Magasinet, the 35-year-old woman said she likely would have stayed in Egersund if it wasn’t for her husband.

He is from Sandnes himself, and it was his English father who gave them the idea for Dubai. There they run the SHP Dubai gym, or Scandinavian Health & Performance Dubai, where they have had members of the royal family in Dubai on the client list. However, they closed the company in 2018.
