BERGEN (VG) (Brann – Strømsgodset 1–1) Kåre Ingebrigtsen (54) has a stated goal of winning titles. But first, Brann’s new coach must start winning games at home. He confirms that only one point from two games in Bergen feels uncomfortable.
When VG asks Ingebrigtsen about the disappointing statistics at home, he winces a bit, and responds if that bothers him.
– Yes, it bothers me. It definitely does. We have played two games here now that we should have won. It helps that we have been much better than the opponent. But when we only have one point, when we could have had six, I know where the shoe hits, says Kåre Ingebrigtsen.

It looked promising when Petter Strand scored the lead goal. But Strømsgodset goalkeeper Viljar Myhra he the night. And Johan Hove secured a point at home against Drammen after a magnificent attack.
On August 8, Kåre Ingebrigtsen was introduced as Brann’s new coach. The debut against Mjøndalen ended in defeat (0-1). However, he continued the rally against Stabæk in the previous round of the series and 2-0 at Nadderud. But on Saturday night, Ingebrigtsen and his crew came back down to earth.
– We mark very little. There is peace and trust in the face of the objectives we need, both from Bamba and from others. But I would have been much more concerned if we hadn’t created scoring chances, says Ingebrigtsen.
In the next match, Vålerenga waits in Oslo. When VG asks what Brann will practice before that deal, the answer comes quickly: – It will be an attacking game, says Ingebrigtsen.

Even with a clear advantage over the chance statistics, it was only a draw against Strømsgodset, one of the weakest visiting teams in the Eliteserien, who had conceded two or more goals in all away games before the Bergen deal.

Drammen’s guests opened in shock after three minutes. Johan Hove had the opportunity to change things. But Brann’s goalkeeper, Markus Pettersen, saved, with his face, of all things.

The fire dominated violently after Strømsgodset expanded. They produced eight chances, in the first half alone. But Viljar Myhra was very good. After a quarter of an hour he saved a double chance. But after about half an hour he had to capitulate.
– I thought I had to be prepared for Brann’s possibilities. We have a fairly young and inexperienced team. But it was great that I made it happen, that I saved so much, that it helped us stay in the game. That we have a point with us, we should be happy, says Myhra.
Godset’s stopper Niklas Gunnarsson cleared the ball directly into Petter Strand’s legs. He thanked – and called – with a whistle from just under 20 meters in the left corner of Myhra.
– We just have to keep working. But it is obvious that we have to score more. We created enough chances, especially in the first half, and we should have had at least two goals at halftime, says Strand.

The fire should double five minutes later. Gilbert Koomson fought his way through the Godset defense. Myhra tried a shot, but from an awkward position, sending the ball to the visiting fans. And then Strømsgodset replied. Towards the game.
