A new construction site in Oslo was closed after 18 cases of infection were detected.

Outbreaks have been detected at a construction site in the “Mills neighborhood” on Grünerløkka in central Oslo.

18 people have been confirmed to be infected and about 150 have been quarantined.

This is confirmed by VG Gruppen Communications Manager Wibecke Brusdal to VG.

AF Gruppen is the prime contractor for the construction project where homes are being built during the quarter.

According to the project website, the nearly seven-acre “mill quarter” in Sofienbergparken will be converted into homes, kindergartens, offices and business premises.

The first case of infection was detected this week. This was followed by mass testing of the 150 or so working on the site.

– On Thursday, everyone who had been in the project this week and the previous one carried out massive tests. All of these are in quarantine waiting until they receive the test results, Brusdal says.

Infection washing will take place at the project on Friday.
