I was surprised when he saw the x-rays of the cat

– She must still be forced to socialize. We will probably have to persuade her for quite some time to feel safe with people again. She just has to have the time she needs, Britt-Alice Halleland tells Dagbladet.

Last Sunday he received the phone he did not expect. Seven months after the family cat disappeared, Animal Protection called and said they had found Miri.

– We are delighted. Our boy heard it all and started howling with joy. The two have always had a very close relationship, Halleland says.

Missing

It was in early July of last year when the discomfort began to spread in the family. The cat was and was gone. Tags were posted in the local community and Facebook was used to call her on various pages, but to no avail. After a week, Halleland also contacted Dyrebeskyttelsen.

The family lives in the countryside in Tysvær. No one knew what had happened to Miri.

– It has never been a cat that strays from us. So we thought it was strange that he was gone.

Haugesunds Avis was the first to mention the case.

Ugly damage

Therefore, last Sunday, the joy was great, when Miri was finally found, alive. But not without signs that it has been through some difficult months.

– She went strangely, and we immediately realized that she was very skeptical of us. It hurts so much not knowing what he has been through. We are trying to integrate it again. We take it step by step, says Britt-Alice Halleland.

She works as a veterinary assistant herself and quickly brought Miri to the clinic for an X-ray.

– We were surprised when we saw it. The X-ray showed that he had horrible wounds that must have been inflicted by humans.

Miri has been shot, says Halleland.

– This is pure evil from a human being. Miri has probably had many months of injections in her body. It must have caused him great pain.

In the image you could see that Miri had several hailstones, and a fracture in her pelvis was also discovered. It appears that the injury occurred shortly after his disappearance. According to Halleland, the fracture has healed, but it has healed improperly.

– Must have been subjected to hitting or kicking and direct abuse. A pelvic bone does not break easily. It’s a grim feeling to walk around knowing who may have done this, says Halleland, who claims they have been in contact with the police and have considered reporting the case.

React strongly

– People who do such things should be ashamed of this and in eternity, Dyrebeskyttelsen tells Haugesunds Avis.

Animal protection declares to the newspaper that they annually bring cats that have hail on their bodies.

– Those who do, should be ashamed of this and in eternity. As much pain as they inflict on an innocent animal for fun. It is completely reprehensible, says Elisabeth Ellingsen in Dyrebeskyttelsen to the newspaper.

This is brutal animal cruelty, he claims.

Miri has been staying in a vacation cabin for the seven months she was on the loose. She has been cared for by the owners of the cabin.

– We are eternally grateful that they took care of her, says Halleland.
