Michael Schumacher suffered serious head injuries during an alpine accident in 2013.
The former Formula 1 star was in an artificial coma for 189 days before returning to his home in Gland, Switzerland, where he has lived ever since.
Schumacher is now being treated in the family home, which has been converted into a state-of-the-art hospital, with staff available around the clock.

Jean Todt, president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), is one of the few who has met Schumacher after the accident. In a new interview, Todt says he recently visited the German.
– I saw Michael last week. He’s fighting, Todt tells the PA news agency.
Schumacher has not appeared in public since the accident.
– My God, everyone knows that he was in a terrible ski accident, which has given him a lot of problems. But he has a wonderful wife by his side, he has his children, his nurses, and all we can do is wish him and his family the best, he says.

Todt was Schumacher’s boss on the Ferrari team and one of his closest friends.
– The only thing I can do is be close to the family, until I have the opportunity to do something. Then I will, he says in the interview according to the Daily Mail.
The German won the World Cup title seven times before ending his Formula 1 career in 2012. He finished with a total of 91 racing victories.
Michael Schumacher’s manager stated in 2016 that there is hope that the former motorsports star will “come back.”
“With support and patience, hopefully he will return to us,” manager Sabine Kehm told the BBC.
