Norway national team captain Rune Almenning Jarstein (35) is impatient but understands why it is difficult to start playing soccer again.

The Hertha Berlin goalkeeper still enjoys personal “joy” in all the uncertainty that comes back from playing soccer.

– I know I am the first option, if and when we start again, the doorman says to VG.

Hertha Berlin’s new coach Bruno Labbadia, the club’s fourth coach for the season, has even given him positive news.

– It was nice to receive that message. When a new coach arrives, that’s what you expect. That was also what I thought, says Jarstein.

Goof match

This interview was conducted before teammate Salomon Kalou was suspended by the club for taking and greeting people in Hertha’s closet, in a live video:

Ante Čović and Jürgen Klinsmann prioritized it, but after the 0-5 loss to Cologne on February 22, it was destroyed by interim coach Alexander Nouri.

In that fight, Jarstein was involved in a comic reaction:

Labbadia, who became Hertha’s boss on April 9, brought the 35-year-old back into the heat again. And on Sunday, the Bundesliga plans to start in May and received the support of Interior Minister Horst Seehofer.

“I think the scheme and schedule established by the German league are credible, and I support a start-up in May,” Seehofer told the Bild newspaper, according to NTB.

The interview came before the news that three Cologne players had tested positive for the crown virus.

On Wednesday, German politicians are expected to provide more information on when and how the Bundesliga can start again.

– lose football

When VG spoke to Jarstein last week, it had been two weeks since he and his teammates were tested for the coronavirus. He had several tests ahead.

– I miss soccer. It’s weird not being able to see it on TV and not being able to play yourself. That is my job and it is something I love. It would have been a lot of fun to start again. This is something we need both here and in Norway, says Jarstein.

He says Hertha’s team has two sessions a day, plus a little more. Players cannot shower or eat together, but the club provides food that they can take home with them. Schools and kindergartens have been closed, and Jarstein has never had so much time for his daughters and his wife.

– It has been nice, but for children it’s okay to get back into everyday life now, he says.

The training sessions were carried out in groups of eight players. Most, apart from close contact, have been the law.

– I feel like we’ve trained a lot, and I’m in good shape. It’s a full archery training, but we’re not allowed to do eleven to eleven right now, says Jarstein, who has a hard time saying anything about the debate over the start of soccer games, both in Germany and in house in norway.

– There is something new in the newspapers every day. Sometimes you have hope, other times you lose faith. I see that it is risky to start again, but most people want a decision. When you exercise twice a day, and a little more, it’s okay to know what’s going on.
