BBC presenter Zoe Ball received a pay raise of 10 million kroner overnight, without her asking for it.
At the same time, Gary Lineker, the former soccer star who heads the “Game of the Day” broadcasts, had to accept a pay cut on the order of four million crowns.

Zoe Ball leads the breakfast program on BBC Radio 2 and, with the latest salary increase, is the highest paid presenter on the BBC with an annual salary of more than 13 million kronor.

According to the Daily Mail, the large salary increase comes as part of the state channel’s job to reduce the pay gap between the organization’s male and female presenters.
– Zoe is one of the best presenters we have and brings together more than eight million listeners every day. I definitely think we get good value for money, says BBC boss Tim Davie of the pay increase.
