Hitra introduces court order on face masks

The order applies in public spaces and outdoors in densely populated areas.

This was stated by the municipality of Hitra in a press release on Sunday night.

Inside, it means in shops, common areas in shopping centers, restaurants, hairdressers and beauty salons and other businesses with personal contact, as well as in religious and philosophical places and in places for cultural and sports activities. The order does not apply to practitioners.

It is also mandatory to wear a mask on a bus, boat and taxi.

The order comes into effect on December 21 and will last until December 28, the municipality writes in a press release. The order can be extended for a week.

The municipality of Hitra is in the midst of an intense outbreak of infection. On Sunday, seven new people tested positive for COVID-19. Thus, a total of 12 people have been infected in the last outbreak.

On Saturday, the municipality took the step of closing both kindergartens, schools and the OFS. On Saturday, massive tests of 168 employees were carried out at the Lerøy Midt facility in Jøsnøya.

– The situation is confusing and very demanding. They are working at high speed to obtain the necessary panorama, it was said in the municipality’s press release.
