– He has always liked football. Like many others, he played for smaller clubs, FK Vinkelen and IK Junkeren, before going to the academy in Bodø / Glimt when he was 12 years old. It is live football, together with friends, that has dominated growth. No systematic training. Gambling and fun on the street was what drove him, recalls Jan Ingvald Hauge.
He moved to Bodø
Little brother Runar, who was brought home to Glimt on Thursday after being loaned out at Grorud, was a good playmate.
– Runar has always been agile and hung on the older brother’s shirt, says the father.
When the family moved to Bodø in 1999, for the father to start at the police academy, Jens Petter Hauge was part of the moving load, safely placed on the mother Gunn Heidi’s stomach.
Neither parent is originally from Bodø. Jan Ingvald is from Garnes in Arna and speaks like a true native of Bergen. Gunn Heidi is from Korgen in Nordland.
Dad Hauge eventually became his son’s soccer coach and a police officer in Bodø.

Jens Petter Hauge will fight his way into the starting lineup: – He will feel well equipped
– Without the intention of putting the words in your mouth: Is what is happening now unreal considering where he was a short time ago?
– It is unreal that such a big club takes the field, and that there is such a transition. We have evolved with it. We have seen that he has taken new steps as a human being and a footballer.
– How?
– Jens Petter is confident and independent. We have seen that he has delivered on the soccer field, along with Bodø / Glimt and his teammates there. It has been a formidable development. So we are very impressed with what he has accomplished over the last year.
The family, which also includes little sister Tale at 13, will follow the soccer adventure as closely as possible and already have plans to watch soccer in Milan.
– There is a lot of talk about him becoming Zlatan’s teammate. What do you think of taking your son to the country with him?
– I think it fits perfectly with Jens Petter. I believe that Jens Petter will thrive in the company of both Zlatan and the other forward-thinking Milan players. He likes the attention.

– Are there only positives with high salaries and everything else that comes with Milan’s new life?
– The football industry is special. I’m happy that he’s been allowed to perform at the level he’s ready for. That there are high wages and an industry around you, you just have to accept that. You have a very good advisor in Atta Aneke, whom we really appreciate.
– I would like to add that it has been incredibly exciting to follow Bodø / Glimt and Jens Petter in recent years, and I want to draw that environment as an important part of Jens Petter’s development.
– In Milan there is probably more cynicism in the dressing room, maybe you are more alone?
– I think international football is tougher than national football. I think you are ready for what will be found there. The teams that do it best are the ones that make the collective work.
