The World Cup in Egypt started in chaotic fashion and even before a single match was played, it was clear that the ongoing crown pandemic would affect the championship.

On Thursday night, it became known that up to eleven Cape Verdean players have tested positive for the coronavirus, and therefore the team’s participation in the World Cup is in jeopardy.

According to Danish journalist Lars Bruun-Mortensen, the International Handball Federation (IHF) also reports that there will be a couple of cases of contagion among hotel employees in Cairo. The union has already sent people home because they have not been able to follow crown protocol. The IHF claims that the cases of infection among the employees were discovered even before the players arrived, so they are no longer in the hotel.

I do not know. I have met several players from different nations who want to give me a hug and hold my hand. They think he’s getting a little hysterical with all these precautions.
