Bayern Munich-Dortmund 3-2

Dortmund responded strongly after being down 0-2 with Bayern Munich. But despite Erling Braut Haaland’s goals and scorers, Dortmund failed to catch up with the German soccer superpower.

Therefore, Haaland did not get his first trophy in his career at Dortmund. Bayern took home their first trophy of the season, just 38 days after winning the Champions League.

Haaland disappointed

– I think we played a good “bad” game, they are small margins. The difference between the best team in the world, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund is in the moment they manage to win games in their favor. He’s a bitter “hostage”, sorry now, Braut Haaland told Viasat after the match.

Right after Haaland’s 2-2, Jærbuen had an almost identical chance alone with the goalkeeper, but this time Neuer saved the end.

– I can say it simply and easily, I should have scored and then we would have won. I should have seen beforehand that he (Neuer) stands tall for a long time, normally goalkeepers go down, but not that racket over there. It was very close, Haaland said with a smile when he described the opportunity.

After 67 minutes, Haaland was substituted, along with other key players in Dortmund. That irritated Jan Åge Fjørtoft at the Viasat studio.

– It seems that winning the Super Cup means more for Hans-Dieter Flick and Bayern than for Favre and Dortmund. They are more concerned with developing players. It is worrying.

When Haaland was asked if it bothered him to be replaced to rest in a super cup final, the forward responded diplomatically.

– In general, I am surprised when we lose a match in which we have a good chance of winning, replied Haaland.

Dortmund coach Lucien Favre was also unhappy after the game.

– We did a lot of good today, but it wasn’t enough, Favre said.

Bayern manager Flick, meanwhile, admits that Bayern really had to work for the win.

– This was not easy. We made it difficult, especially in the second half, said Flick.

Dortmund counter on the sink

Dortmund opened the coolest at the Allianz Arena, but it was Bayern who took the lead in the final of the German Super Cup.

After 18 minutes, Bayern followed up with one of the most beautiful counterattacks of the season to date. Benjamin Pavard headed into a corner that nearly caught up with Erling Braut Haaland at the back post. Alphonso Davies scooped up the falling fruit and hit a tunnel over Thomas Meunier, before passing the ball to Coman down the left. The Frenchman found Müller in the middle, who played through Robert Lewandowski on the right. The Polish goal machine served Tolisso only with the goalkeeper. The midfielder finished off the crossbar, before he himself scored on the return leg.

After half an hour, Bayern doubled the advantage.

Davies got time and space on his left side, and put a good post in the back post. There the thief Thomas Müller appeared. The German crushed Felix Passlack, 22, at the back post and headed 2-0 for Bayern.

Haaland support

After the 2-0 scoreline, Bayern appeared to be in full control of the deal. But just before the break, the newly crowned Champions League champions were possibly too comfortable.

Five minutes before the break, Bayern were spoiled. Munich dressed in red tried to play from behind, but Dortmund managed to steal the ball high up on the pitch. Braut Haaland received the ball 17 meters from the goal and selflessly passed Julian Brandt on the right. The attacking midfielder hit the ball into the goal passing Bayern captain Manuel Neuer.

Scored and missed against Neuer

After the break, Dortmund opened better, while Bayern looked more uncomfortable on defense. Just two minutes after the break, full-back Thomas Meunier had a chance only with the goalkeeper, but the shot went far over the top, much to the frustration of coach Lucien Favre.

But after 54 minutes, Dortmund finally tied, and it was Haaland who should be on the scorers list. Midfielder Akanji won the ball high at Lewandowski’s field. Danish Thomas Delaney found his Scandinavian teammate Braut Haaland with a good breakthrough pass, and the 20-year-old was frozen when he placed the ball in the lower right corner of Neuer.

Four minutes later it looked like we had a replay of the Allianz Arena, but the reality was that Braut Haaland was alone with Neuer once again. Jærbuen tried to shoot in the same corner, but this time Neuer was not fooled. The German goalkeeper kept pace with a fantastic one-handed save, much to Haaland’s despair.

– Much more than approved

After 67 minutes, Haaland was awarded a free kick. Reinier entered, hired by Real Madrid.

Viasat expert Lars Tjærnås was very pleased with Haaland’s performance in the final.

– We give it much more than approved. Best of all, he improved throughout the game. At least there is nothing wrong with the physical. For the sake of Dortmund and the match, it is a shame that he has been replaced. But I also understand Favre, he wants him healthy for a new match this weekend, Tjærnås said.

Both teams replaced several of their usual first-team players, so as not to overwhelm them too much at the start of the new season.

Kimmich decided

Nine minutes before the end, Bayern maintained the decisive 3-2.

Joshua Kimmich stole the ball from Delaney in midfield and passed the ball to Lewandowski. The forward returned the ball to Kimmich, who first had his shot stopped by Dortmund goalkeeper Marwin Hitz. But on the way back, a liar Kimmich managed to send the ball into goal impressively.

Dortmund did not respond after the 3-2 goal, and thus Bayern Munich won the German Super Cup at home.
