The premature fetus that has been found in a toilet in Kvæfjord bears the mark of having been in bed for a long time.
On Monday this week the police were notified that a body had been found in a latrine at Kvæfjord in Troms and Finnmark. It should turn out to be a premature fetus, bearing the mark of having been lying down for a long time.
Police are now investigating the body to determine his identity. Investigations of the site and people who may be related to the address are also conducted.
A premature fetus was found at another address in Kvæfjord in October 2019, but police say it is too early to say if there is any connection between these two cases.
Harstad Police Station Chief Frank Sletten tells VG that the police see similarities to the 2019 case.
– At the same time, we have not brought to light the identity of the fetus. It’s especially important: Identity will be able to tell a lot more about any similarity, he says.
It says that the premature fetus found in 2019 was not found at the same address.
– It is the same settlement and the same municipality, but not in the same direction.
The body has been sent to the Oslo University Hospital for an autopsy, he says.
