FBI investigates whether Russia is behind controversial emails

On Wednesday, the New York Post published images of emails claiming to be part of the correspondence of Hunter Biden, the son of presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The article claims that Biden’s son introduced the father of a Ukrainian businessman when the vice president was responsible for US relations with Ukraine.

It is further claimed that Joe Biden must have taken his son’s business interests into account when handling diplomatic relations between countries. Hunter Biden has served on the board of directors of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

FBI investigation

The newspaper writes that it received the hard drive with the emails from Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani. The disk is said to have originated from a laptop that had been in a computer store in the state of Delaware for a year, where the PC was returned for repair but was never recovered.

The special story about the discovery is said to be part of the reason the FBI is now investigating the case as a possible Russian-influenced operation.

It was NBC that first reported on the investigation. The AP news agency also receives the same information from a source.

It has yet to be verified whether the emails were spoofed or obtained in the event of a data breach.

Facebook and Twitter prevent sharing of Biden’s article

Blocked

The New York Post article has received a lot of attention, not only for its content, but also because Facebook and Twitter have worked to prevent it from being shared.

Twitter users who have tried to share the article have received a warning that it cannot be done, because Twitter or the company’s partners have identified the link as “potentially harmful”.

Users who have tried to click the link have also received a similar warning.

Twitter has written a thread where they explain why they have introduced measures against sharing the article. They write, among other things, that the article contains private information like email addresses and phone numbers, which is contrary to their guidelines.

Additionally, the article contains content that has been obtained in ways that are contrary to Twitter’s anti-piracy guidelines, it says.

Facebook also says that they limit the sharing of the article until it has been verified.

Trump was warned that his personal lawyer was the useful idiot of the Russians

Republicans are furious

Joe Biden stubbornly denies all of the allegations in the article, claiming that he did not speak to his son about his business. Experts also say the accusations are false and their origin has been questioned.

President Donald Trump writes on Twitter that it is “terrible” that internet giants are blocking article sharing.

Republicans want to sue Twitter CEO

– This is just the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician, Trump continues, referring to the article.

At a public meeting in Iowa on Thursday night, Trump said his press secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s account was blocked after she shared the article.

– Because he told the truth! That’s why they closed his account, Trump said.

Even Republicans in the Senate are reacting angrily. About his Twitter-konto have posted a message addressing the founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey. They write “see you soon” and attach a video in which they try to share the article without success.
