Levi Try (23) and Øyunn Krogh (25) became lovers shortly before “Sommerhytta”, and had never carpeted before. After a terrible start, they finally fled with victory from the dream cabin.
On the TV 2 program “Sommerhytta”, four teams – a total of eight participants – fought side by side for ten weeks to achieve the dream of the big cabin.
Each team renovates their own cabin at Lyseren Strandpark in Ytre Enebakk, and it had never been this way even before the last week started.
In the end, it was the bridal couple Øyunn Krogh and Levi Try who got away with the victory and got their own home made to share and own.
– It’s completely unreal, says Krogh to VG.
The couple met on Instagram just a few months before entering the competition, and they knew nothing about renovations and woodwork when filming began.
“We expected to lose, although deep down we had hope,” says Try.
In the final episode, there were tears for all the participants.
– After ten weeks, all the walls have been knocked down. You’re so tired and the feelings are almost on the outside of the body, says Try.
– You are really completely exhausted and use the last of your strength. Then the adrenaline rush and the final rise again, so it’s impossible to contain the emotions, Krogh adds.
VG talks to the couple via video call from their apartment in Oslo.
Unlike many other couples their age, they live collectively with other people. And now they also own a cottage worth 3.5 million crowns.
They count ten weeks hard as bones.
– What is shown on television is a brilliant image of real reality. It was difficult, but it was more difficult to see that he regretted it, says Øyunn and refers to his girlfriend.
To try to undo.
– I hated it so much. I had never retired, but I was definitely sorry, he says.
The couple were helpless for the first few weeks and were by no means likely to win.
– We got off to an absolutely terrible start. We were definitely the team that had overestimated us, and clearly the worst, says Levi.
But after a few weeks, Krogh and Try began to catch up with each other in the competition.
“We failed for five weeks, but then all of a sudden we started to succeed,” says Krogh.
– We just got better and the things we had done were going faster and faster. We trusted each other more, and in the end we were a couple who could do anything, says Try.
Therefore, going into the last week was more stressful.
– It was a great victory for us to be there and be part of the fight for real. And then all of a sudden the stakes were high, Øyunn says.
Krogh says that in addition to never having carpeted before, she and her boyfriend had never lived together before ten weeks.
– We were the couple who had least been together. We were a bit in love. And it was certainly an advantage, but we had to learn how we work as a couple, he says.
– It meant we could get to know each other faster. But I don’t think renewal is a miracle cure for a better relationship, Levi says.

Krogh and Try are happy to share with friends and family that they are the winners of this year’s Sommerhytta.
– It’s a bit like that final state of mind, says Try and adds that it has been a whole year since they had a recording.
Now they really want to finally be allowed to use the cabin.
– It will probably be a trip on Tuesday or Sunday, says Try.
– Although it may appear on television that it is a “regular” booth, it was a very well built booth that we have made. Which we think was very good. So we are extremely proud, says Krogh.
Believe that the cabin will be used diligently.
– There are many among us who will benefit greatly from that booth. By friends and family alike, Levi says.
