Everyone loves Glimpses: Roll the dice 7!

(Bodø / Glimt-Aalesund 7–0) Has any Norwegian football team experienced a tribute in unison like the one that this year’s magnificent league champion will soon experience?

This is a comment. The comment expresses the attitude of the writer.

Regardless of which club you join, it is impossible to resist being fond of and happy with the development at Bodø. This is exactly what Norwegian club football needs, at a time when there has been a long way between the bright spots. With seven goals in a crazy sabotage of Aalesund, we had another night of partying to enjoy, and it could be quickly now that the golden jubilation has been unleashed. But a late development in Molde puts what we all know a bit on hold.

Without curbing how much fun is happening in the north this season.

It’s one thing that it’s not all more of a rivalry between Molde and Rosenborg, but it’s first and foremost the way Bodø / Glimt has turned out to be the best that delights and impresses just about everything and everyone.

This is not where you will find the most money, but you have a systematic plan of who Glimt will be and what he will look like, showing how far you can go if you believe in your own ideas.

This means that the club is larger than the individuals and creates robustness for an identity. Lets replace when something changes.

Last season was a lot about Håkon Evjen, in a season where Glimt captured silver, but finished 14 points behind Molde. Some were quite concerned about what it would be like when Evjen was sold to Alkmaar for around 25 million. Would Glimt sell himself away from the opportunity to take the last step?

No way.

The ability to create and recreate has given us a step-by-step team that the competitors simply cannot resist this season. It’s not primarily because Junker and Zinckernagel are toxic or Patrick Berg’s watchdog, but the result of the sum of factors. It’s about a style of play, a physical base, a community mindset, and a coach that most Bergen people probably would have wanted to stay in the west rather than 885 kilometers further north.

Because if there is an award that should be totally devoid of drama this season, it is the jury’s job to decide who is the “Coach of the Year” in the Elite Series. That name is Kjetil Knutsen, with two hyphens underneath and at least four exclamation points.

Some will probably think it’s a shame we don’t have a nail-biting golden drama to the very end, but it will be too petty an angle. Rather, we should all be able to enjoy what they have served us up in an otherwise strange football season. At the time of writing, we don’t know if the distance is that great even after the excitement is soon released, but in any case, the yellows will win the league with a sea. It could have been decided tonight, but postponement is only in academic interest.

Although it’s easy to run out of history, and some people in Trøndelag, for example, will probably talk about 2003, there is something about what Glimt has done based on assumptions and framework conditions that seems quite unique. Not least, they have managed to create so much soccer joy in a year in which we are hungry for so much more.

Therefore, they now deserve to be received from all corners of the country, and probably will be to a greater extent than we are used to seeing with previous gold winners. There is something irresistible in what we are witnessing at Nordland, which they can hopefully build on and inspire others in the seasons to come.

What we have seen is something completely different at a glance: we have had one of the most deserved and impressive seasons of a Norwegian club.

And it’s been done so charmingly that we may have to go to Tromsø to find someone who’s not really happy on behalf of Bodø / Glimt. But TIL is now even out of good company this season.

It is not Bodø / Glimt, resorting to understatement.
