Halvor Egner Granerud once again showed impressive stability during the World Cup race at Engelberg in Switzerland.
The 24-year-old led after the first half after a jump of 133.5 meters in difficult conditions.
In the second half, he was thus the last man from the edge of the jump, a completely new situation for Granerud.
But the Norwegian once again faced the pressure and stretched to 138 meters, clinching the victory with him, 2.2 points ahead of Kamil Stoch. Anze Lanisek was in third place.
– I had to wait so long
This is Granerud’s fourth consecutive victory at a World Cup this season.
With that, he is the third Norwegian to win four races in a row at the World Cup. The other two are Espen Bredesen and Ole Bremseth.
– This is my best achievement this winter. Especially the first jump, with everything that happened. I had to wait so long, and then I made a good jump in difficult conditions, says Granerud in the FIS interview, which was shown on TV 2.
– I was finally able to lead after the first half, it’s something I’ve always wanted. That experience was also fun to have, Granerud said.
The jumper leads the World Cup overall, and with Saturday’s victory he increases the advantage in the battle to become Norway’s first overall winner in jump since Anders Bardal won it in 2012.
– It’s just big. He’s in very good shape, says national team manager Alexander Stöckl via the You Tube channel of the national jumping team.

Difficult conditions
Neither Robert Johansson nor Daniel André Tande managed to qualify for the final round. Both had very tough conditions during their jumps.
Marius Lindvik finished in 10th place, while Johann André Forfang was number 18. Sander Vossan Eriksen finished in 22nd place.
The next item on the jumping calendar is German-Austrian jumping week, which starts on December 28.
