The fire brigade was notified through an automatic fire alarm system after it began to burn on the battery of an electric scooter that was stopped in a hallway.
At 12 o’clock on Monday, the Oslo police district announced on Twitter that emergency services were heading to Sofienberg, where a fire in an apartment building had been reported.
Both the police and the ambulance are on the scene at 12:20. According to the fire service, the emergency response was due to an electric scooter starting to burn.
– We were notified through an automatic fire alarm system and therefore quickly arrived at the scene. I have no information of any damage to the home, says on-duty commander Arvid Nordstrand at exchange 110 with VG.
The Oslo Police District informs VG that they were notified that a sprinkler system had been activated in a block and that there was smoke on the stairs.
– It turns out that it is an electric scooter that has had smoke development. Two occupants of the apartment have probably ingested some smoke. One person is taken to the emergency room and another to the hospital for monitoring, operations manager Marita Aune tells VG.
